The newspaper's main content included general news of and for the Welsh people, but with a special focus on literature, with such notable contributors as William Lewis Lewis (Llew Llwyfo, 1831-1901), Richard Hughes Williams (Dic Tryfan, 1878?-1919) and T. Gwynn Jones (1871-1949). Amongst the newspaper's editors were Robert John Rowlands (Meuryn, 1880-1967), Owen Picton Davies (1882-1970), John James Hughes (Alfardd, 1842-1875) and Daniel Rees (1855-1931).
