UNITY IS STRENGTH may indeed be said with regard to Holloway's Pills and Ointment, for when used together, they are remarkable in their effects upon disease. No matter -how stubborn the symptoms may be, they cannot long withstand these remedies. All sufferers, whom other treatment has failed to relieve, should try the celebrated Ointment, which- will strengthen and cure them. The Pills recommend themselves to the attention of all •offerers. No injurious consequences <<can result from their use no mistake can be made in their administration. In indigestion, confirmed dyspepsia and chronic constipation, the most beneficial effects have been, and always must be, obtained from the wholesome power exerted by these purifying Pills over the digestion. A Royal Warrant has been granted to Lipton, the large Tea. Coffee, and Provision Merchant, and well known Ceylon Tea Planter, for the supply of Tea to Her Majesty the Queen. This is a further evidence of the excellence of Lipton's delicious Teas. TOWN COUNCIL COMMITTEES.
TOWN COUNCIL COMMITTEES. PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Public Works Committee took place at the Corporation Offices on Monday evening when there were present—Councillors Thomas Griffiths, in the chair, R. Peake, and Isaac Hopkins, with Mr H. L. Evans, accountant, and Mr Rees Jones surveyor. The bills having been examined and passed, The Surveyor presented a sketch of urinals and lavatories for the Castle grounds, such as Messr- WUoFarlane & Co., Glasgow, were prepared to supply j tkv t. v'ost of X270 5s Od. Th Chairman thought it was no use making a tecotr >lendation to the Council. I iit Isaac Hopkins asked how much such a struc- ture would make for them during the summer. Air Peake thought it would bring them in about -650, and that it would certainly be an advantage to have one there. He proposed that they make a recommendation to the Council to make suoh a con- venience as the one for which plans had been sub- mitted. Mr Hopkins seconded, thinking it would pay for itself. The motion was carried. The Surveyor said he was requested by the Gardener to ask for an increase of salary. His salary at present was 26s a week. Mr Hopkins thought they should have a fortnight or so in which to consider the matter. Councillor Peake then proposed that the question be considered in a fortnight, and the proposition was agreed to. The Surveyor reported that since the thaw had set in he had been given great trouble with the water service pipes. Mr B. Peake said he should like to see the scavengers sweep the crossings when they went their rounds, and The Surveyor made a note of the matter. Mr Peake thought it would be a great boon to the town if they obtained a rotary road brush; and the Surveyor expressed a similar opinion. The Surveyor stated that before the summer was over he would have to trouble them for one or more water carts as the present ones were nearly worn out. It was decided to report to the Council that the questions of the rotary brushes and water carts had been under consideration, and that the Surveyor had been instructed to get estimates. The committee then rose.

FOOTBALL. i ( ABERYSTWYTH v U.C. W. ] The town team played the College on Saturday, on the Vicarage field, when there was a large number of spectators. In the opening a finished displsy by the tewn forwards concluded with a clinking shot by | Rea, which nearly brought the downfall of the students' sticks. The College returned, but their efforts were unavailing. D. M. Jones laid hold of the ball, and gave the goalkeeper a handful. Succeeding this came a grand sprint by Rea, but thi glabe was diverted by Bunford. The College then pot on a splendid spurt, and sent the ball between the uprights, but the sroal was disallowed as offside. R«a again tore away, the upshot being the banging ot the ball against the crossbar. The College then obtained their fir-it goal amidst cheers. A niee rnn down by Rea, and Garner was given a chance which he utilized well by placing the first goal for the town. In the second half Aberystwythl broke away, Llew Ellis, an importation for the occasion from the Con- gregationalists, trying the goalkeeper with a grand shot which nearly proved effective. Following this came some admirable work by D. M. Jones. Th.< town then pressed for some time till Lloyd Roberts had a chance, but he sent the ball over the crossbar. Rea kept things alive for a considerable period, and sepred the second goal for the town. The teams then played a fairly even game nntil^the end. The follow- ing were the teams: U.C.W. Goal, Roose; backs, Bunford and D. Williams; half-backs, A. Miles. W. Jones, and Morris; forwards, D. M. Jones, Lloyd Roberts, Dewi Ellis, W. D. Evans and Hodge. TOWN. Goal, J. Jones; backs, Dougall and W. Davies; half-backs, Harry Smith, D. Morgan, and W. R. Jones forwards, A. Ellis, Llew Ellis, Garner, Rea and Bennett.

PUBLICATIONS. We have received from the publishers, Messrs Ward, Lock, and Bowen, Limited, the third number of the new Windsor Magazine," which seems to have very few compeers as an all-round periodical. The reading matter is provided by the best authors, which fact must vouch for its excellence and the illustrations are charming, most of them being done with a slashing boldness of style which seems to be peculiar to very few of the best" black and white artists.
