BEAUMARIS. FASHIONABLE MARRIA.GE.-The marriage of Lady Magdalene Yorke, daughter of the Earl and Coun- tess of Hardwicke, to Sir R. Williams-Bulkeley, Bart., of Baron Hill, Beaumaris, was solemnised on Thursday afternoon, the 10th inst., at the Chapel Royal, Savoy, by special licence. A fashionable congregation assembled, amongst whom were the Duchess of Wellington, Countess Cowley, Lady Hardwicke, Viscount Royston, the Hon. Miss Gros- venor, Viscount Dangan, Maria, Marchioness of Ailesbury, Lord and Lady Henry Gordon-Lennox, Lady F. Sturt, Lady Bulkeley, Col. the Hon. F. Wellesley, Mr. W. G. Craven, Lady Bertie, the Hon. J. Yorke, and a number of relatives and intimate friends of the two families. The bride was con- ducted to the altar by her father, who gave her away. She was attended by six bridesmaids :-Lady Eva Wellesley, Miss Bulkeley, Miss Craven, Miss Farquhar, the Hon. Hilda Sturt and Lady Alice Bertie. The Hon. R. Spencer acted in the capacity of best man. The service was fully choral, and the officiating clergy were the Rev. Hy. White, assisted by the Rev. E. L. Fellows, rector of Wimpole, Cam- bridgeshire. As the bridal procession advanced up the centre aisle, preceded by the clergy, the full choir sang the hymn The voice that breathed o'er Eden." a The bride was attired in a long robe of white duchesse satin, trimmed with swansdown, tulle veil surmounted by a wreath of orange blos- soms. She wore no jewels whatever, and carried a bouquet of white lilac and lilies. The bridesmaids wore costumes to match the bride's dress—white satm^and swansdown—white plush hats with white aigrettes. Each wore a pearl and diamond knot brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. The marriage was the occasion of very hearty demonstration at Beaumaris and other places in Anglesey. The bride- groom is the Mayor of Beaumaris, and is said to be the youngest holder of that municipal honour in the United Kingdom. With the borough of Beaumaris the family of Baron Hill have from time immemorial been intimately identified, a Bulkeley being con- stable of the castle and the principal landowner in uae district. Through a committee, of which Mr. Purvis was the honorary treasurer, funds were provided for giving a treat to the old people of the parish and the school children. At night there was a banquet at the Williams-Bulkeley Arms Hotel, a large party sitting down to the excellent catering of Miss Williams, the manageress. Col. Hampton Lewis presided. After dusk there was a display of fireworks in the castle, and bonfires blazed on the summits of mountains surrounding Beaumaris. A committee, of which Mr. R. G. Thomas is the honorary secretary, has organised a subscription list for presenting Lady Bulkeley with a wedding present from the tenantry of the Baron Hill estate in Anglesey and Carnarvonshire.

In the house of a lady, aged 83, residing at Girton, near Newark, a sum of £ 2340 in notes, gold, silver, and copper was discovered shortly after the lady's death Miss Minnett, the lady in question, had been known among her neighbours for her eccentric mode of lite, and it was generally supposed that she was in great poverty.
