SIR,—In the columns of your journal of the 7th, you kin MY inserted the letter oi a Rate Payer, in reference to a vestry meetio?, held at IJanover church, the purpose for which it was convened, and the reasons why it was defeated in its objects. The proceedings at that meeting afforded sufficient proof that tire expenditure of the parochial funds and other transact'on^ connected with4he-parish, could not be too narrowly watched. On Thursday, the 12th instant, a third meeting was called and considered legal from forty to fifty of the rate payers attended thfc overseers'and churchwardens' hooks were produced, and their accounts examined, which proved satisfactory, with ihe exception of those tienis charged tor the remuval of paupers hy oite of the overseersthe. meeting considered them highly e\ 4ravagant and unsatisfactority accounted for, 3nd agecd that it should be presented to thi; Board of Guardians, and thro ,:h them to the Commissioners, with an applicatioj for J new i Ve- t tioo of two Guardians for the parish, and the appointment 11 ( paid Overseer.
