No. 32, Llandaff-road, Canton, Cardiff, June 22nd, 1893. To Wm. Radam's Microbe Killer Co., Ill, Oxford- street, London. Gentlemen,—Last week my little boy four years of age suddenly became very ill. On examination I found the tonsils of his throat to be much swollen and covered with specks. I at once saw it was a serious case of Dipbtheria. The glands about the neck and under the jaw was also much swollen, and the body in a high state of fever. One< of your patients seeing the child in this condition strongly advised me to try your Microbe Killer, and at the same time offering me the medicine he had for Ms own use. I then commenced to give the child small repeated doses besides using the Inhaler containing the Microbe Killer, as well as using externally around the swollen neck and jaws a slightly warm compress. In three days the child was entirely well, everything in the throat had vanished, and the fever gone. Let me add to this testimony that only a few months ago this same child was suffering from exactly the same disease, and although a local doctor was in attendance, yet for fully six weeks the child remained very ill, also that only three months ago one of my children died with a, similar disease. YOlt are at liOerty to nse this as you think proper for the benefit of other.—Remaining yours sincerely, JOSEPH HELLARD. Full particulars, with testimonials, posted free to any address. Please read and judge for yourself. n c Merthyr. Dear Sir,—One of my sons went out to Canada last Ala and settled down in the neighbourhood of Oil Springs, Lambton, Ontario, having taken to the farm- ing business. Some months ago lie wrote home saying he had been on the sick list for several weeks suffering fearfully from piles, which had rendered him too weak to do any manual labour. Immediately I received his letter I went to Messrs Peglsr's and had a supply of your pills, which I forwarded to him. Three weeks ago he wrote home saying that your pills had done him some wonderful good. Before he had finished one box he was able to start work again. Last night I had another letter from him, stating that to all appear- ances the disease had left him, and he was in his usual health. Having accidentally heard that a man living in the same neighbourhood had been a great sufferer from piles for over twenty years, my sou sought him out, and gave him half of the box he had. Within four days the man was jumping with joy from the good effects ot your pills. Having received so much benefit from your pills personally, and witnessing their good eneefcs on the man referred to, my son is very anxioas that other sufferers may know of them, and receive the same benefit from them as he had himself.—Yours faithfully, JOSEPH WILLIAMS, Publisher of Tyst a'r Dydd newspaper and Cenad Hedd magazine. CARDIFF WATER SUPPLY AN* THE…
CARDIFF WATER SUPPLY AN* THE RAINS. The danger of a water famine in Cardiff become minimised by the recent heavy fallll rain. Nevertheless, on account of the paro ground absorbing ao much of the rain, it ViO be folly to believe that the danger is past. streams feeding Llanishen and Lisvane have furnished any appreciable increase of storage, while there was a rainfall of 2'45 inches Saturday to Wednesday morning at CanuP reservoir, that indicated at Lisvane was o 1'03, the gathering ground for Lisvane course, of a flat nature compared with the W cipitous mountain descents of Cwmtaff. At \re3erVO!r' 'n course of construction higher the Taff Valley, the rainfall has been even than 2'45. Since Saturday water has brought down from Cwmtaflf for the first timf over two months. It tis coming down J the rate of between 8,000,000 and 9,000.^ gallons every 24 hours. Yesterday ing there were 100,000,000 gallons in tV Lilamshen resevoir; and at Cantreff, while quantity in the reservoir was 50,000,000 galla; on Tuesday morniug, it was 83,000,000 on following morning, irrespective of the suppjj which had been sent down. With the land fairly web, further rainfalls will mean a larger proportion of increase in the water of Cardiff. PROSECUTION AT CARDIFF. At Cardiff Borough Police-court on WedflfJ day—before the stipendiary magistrate (M W. Lewis)—Mr Tapson, of Ricbmond.road, summoned a.t the instance of the water wOfol committee of the Cardiff Corporation using water for other than doweS purposes. Mr F. C. Lloyd, the deputy to^ clerk, appeared for the prosecution, Mr T.v Belcher defended, and admitted the offence wb'^j he said, was a very common one, but bfj become somewhat serious in consequence of recent drought. The defendant had just the hose, and was nob aware of the express veff. lation issued by the committee.—Mr Lloyfy I am prepared to prove, by the evidence of inspector, that the defendant knew of the reg° jj tion, and that he admitted-its having been broU??j to his knowledge. If he had recently the hose it was an aggravation of his offencfv^ The Stipendiary said the regulation passed the local authority was one which had in the convenience, and the comfort, and perWJ the health of the people of the town. It "8 urgently necessary that such a regulation sbOØø be rigidly observed and vigorously enforced, the defendant knew of the regulation, it w very serious offence. He imposed a penalty 40s and costs.
