In view of a letter received from the Local Gov- ernment Board in relation to the surcharge by the Auditor of a similar sum voted by the Council last year, the Committee felt that they were unable to acquiesce in the proposal, and THE DESTRUCTION OF BOTTLER-At a meeting of the Llandudno Health Committee the Clerk read correspondence with the pro- prietors of bottles which find their way into ashes bins and from thence to the Destructor Works, protesting against the proposal of the Council to destroy all such bottles in the in- terest of public health. The President of the North Wales Bottlers' Trades Protection Society also wrote asking that the question may be allowed to stand over until the end of September, and that the Committee will re- ceive a deputation to discuss the matter. Mr Porter remains ir, the room. Mr Bliss Hill rose to make another remark, but the Chairman said they did not want to hear any further remarks and the incident closed—Mr Porter was subsequently .sworn, and gave evd-dence that defendant had admitted the paternity of the child.-Th-e de- fendant having been sworn and denied the allegations and Mr Porter's version of what took place, the magistrates retired.—After their return the Chairman said they had decided to make an order for three shillings a week with costs.
