Eisteddfod Concert at Llandudno. THE Town Hall, Llandudno, was crowded with an appreciative audience on New Year's night, when an -eisteddfod concert was held in- connection with Salem Welsh Baptist Mission. Councillor John Owen, Avallon, presided, and the duties of conductor were carried out bY the Rev. H. Bryn Davies. Mr D. E. Ellis, Cefnmawr, proved himself a most efficient ad- judicator of tttj music, whjilslt the Revs. J- Irvon Davies and David Jones gave general satisfaction: with -their adjudication of literary items submitted. Miss Thomas, Craigy- don, accompanied admirably. The programme was as follows: -"Hen Wlad, fy Nhadau;" short address by the Chairman;. song, "The last watch," Mr D. E. Ellis; sorigV "Fy Mam," Miss, S. Jonlss; duet, "Where are you going, my prjstty maid?" (encored), Miss, S- Jones and Mr D. E. Ellis; song, "Good-bye," Miss S. Jones; song, "Nirvana," Mr D. E. Ellis; song, "Bwithyn yr Amddifad," Mr Ellis- Interspersed with these items were the various competitions in slinging and reciting. Jennie Williams, East Parade, and Master John Fostervine Meredith, The Moor- lands, divided honours in the, children's solo competition, while the samis thing occurred ir", the case of Miss Hobson, 6, Mostyn-crescent, and Mr J. Vaughan Jones, in the recitation1 event. The challenge solo competition brought forth six competitors, Mr W. E. Jones, of Conway, c being eventually declared the winner. f' In the competition for the blsst rendering of any two hymn tunes, only one party made their appearance, and they were given, the prize. A hjsarty vote of thanks was accorded all who took part in the proceedings, on the motion 0 Mr J. Spinther James, M.A. —♦_
