Llandudno Footballers Fined for Stealing. AT Llandudno Police Court on Monday, Wm. Smith, captain of the Llandudno Wolves football team, and William Wvnn, secretary to the club, were summoned for stealing two- bill- posting boards, value 5s., the property of Milton Bode, of the Grand Theatre, Llandudno, between the 21st and the 23rd of November. Defendants pleaded not guilty. Walter Lyons, caretaker at the Grand Theatre, gave evidence as to missing the notice boards on the 23rd November. He had last seen them in- tact on a wall on the 21st inst. The boards were then joined together, and they bore the stamp "Milton Bode," but the words had since been erased, and the two sections of the board divid- ed. He recognised the boards produced as the proprietors property. The property was valued at 5s.-The boards, to which were still attached posters announcing a match between the Wolves and Rhyl on December 21ft, were at this junc- ture held up for the examination of the magis- trates. P.S. Nelson said that when the defendants were charged with the theft of the goods both said "We reserve our defence." Witness found the boards, one in Lloyd-street, and another in Lower Mostyn-street. Defendants gave evidence on their own be- half. Smith said that, in company with Wynn, he went to the grand stand on the football field, on the 2I,t December, and there they found the boards. Thinking they were the property of the Swifts Football Club, they made use of them. Wynn said he found the boards near some bath- ing machines and that he had taken them up to the grand stand where he subsesuently took Smith to get them. There was no name of any description on them. Supt. Rees proved one case of larceny against Smith in October last when he was fined 28s. Fines of 5s and costs were inflicted in each case. ♦ • ♦
