SHOCKING HOLYWELL TRAGEDY I A shocking tragedy came to light on Thursday at Holywell. The police were called to the house of a eoldier, who was found stretched out on the floor with his throat cut, j whilst his wife was lying dead on the br-d. apparently poisoned. The man was alive, but died on the way to the hospital. The woman had been dead some hours. TilPre are three children, and one of them uiude the discovery.

LLANELLY ALIEN CASE I At the Llanelly Police Court on Wed- nesday five persons were summoned for offences under the Aliens Restriction Order. Jeremiah Griffiths was proceeded against not keeping a register for the registra- tion of aliens.—The caee was dismissed on payment of oe. 6d. costs. Thos. Thomas, 50, Andrew-street; Wm. Griiliths, 47, Andrew-street; and Joseph Sullivan, Andrew-terrace, were each sum- moned for failing to enter in a register th.3 names of aliens staying at their houses. Thoma-s was and the other two cases were dismissed.

A BOGUS D.S.O. Charles John Soden, a nrakesman, who I is alleged to have committed various thefts while posing a6 a major in the Army, was charged on remand at Mary- lebone on Thursday with stealing a suit, case and contents, valued at Paddington Station. Accused was also further charged with the theft of binocu- lars, etc., and with wearing an officer's uniform. Prisoner at first expressed a wish that the (-,a,-e might go for trial, but altered his decision and elected to be dealt with summarily. He was sent to prison for three months and six months respectively on two charges of theft, and for three months for wearing tbe uniform: the sen- tences to run consecutively, making in all a year's imprisonment with hard labour.
