CHRISTIAN EVIDENCE. A -WORTHY WOUK. THE forty-eigiitli annual report.,of the Clirirttian Evideneo Society is to hand. During the year open-air work lta-s fur- Ither increased, and G51meetillgs have, been held. It is estimated that lialf a million c-ime under the influence-of the society's ■open-air speakers during the year under review. This does not include "the meet- ings given, by the Hyde Park branch, or the lectures by the Hey. Professor C. P. Rogers in Hyde Bark evory Sunday nIter- noon. It is a sign of the times that there is aleo a women's platforia from which. lecfcares are given. The report shows that the societies wlijch oppose Christianity are aetivo and will possibly be more active. This means that the Christian Evidence Society will have to be oven more active than before. Speaking of Rnaiice, the re- port says the position is oW of anxiety, and if we ai-e. to increase our activities and meet the rapidly increasing demands for our help which reach us from all over the country it is absolutely essential that we should find, some means of con- siderably increasing our financial re- sources." I¡t must be too, that the Chri&tian Evidence Society has been and is carrying on active work against ration^isnr at the Front. The report says rigidly v/hon it says the im- portance of this work cannot be over- estimated." l..c.o>iof;
