i - SALMON ROE. I
i SALMON ROE. I I Cases Against Llandovery Farmers Dismissed. « At I.1andon.ry on Friday, Wm". Jones and David Jones, father and eon, Glan- gwedderig Farm, Llandovery, wer-I charged with being in possession of a sack containing salmon roe. Bailiff Walters, of the Carmarthen Bay Fishery Board, salfi he watched the two defendant for half an hour. One of them was attempting to gaff a salmon at the woir, and upon his approaching ran away and secreted something in a hedge near by. Witness searched, and found a long stick, which he said had been used as a gaff, and a sack. The e&ck contained salmon roe. Mr. T. R. Ludford, for the defence, said the farmers were hedging, and the bailiff mistook their movements for gaffing a 1 fish. They denied knowledge of the sack, its contents, and the stick. The Bench considered that there were grave doubts in the case, and dismissed both summonses.
