FROM CROESFAEN. On Tuesday, February 28th, the children's tea and entertainment connected with Babell (C.M.) Chapel were held. Soon after 3.30 in the after- noon the children of the Sunday School and Band of Hope gathered together in large numbers, and, since the day was exceptionally fine for the time of the year,. a most enjoyable day was spent. Among the ladies who either provided for or took part in the tea were the following :—Mrs. Morgans, Mrs. Griffiths, Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Rees, Mrs. Owen, Mrs. J enkiust Mrs. John, Mrs. Mordecai, Mrs. Hill. Miss Jenkins, Miss Harry, Miss Sarah Bevan, and Miss Catherine Davies. After tea the children were bountifully supplied with sweets, biscuits, &c., and all appeared merry and full of glee. At seven in the evening an entertainment was held, presided over by the Rev. Barac Rees, pastor. Appended is the pro- grame gone through in the most creditable manner: —Tune, Room for the children;" recitations by Margaret J. Owen, D. John, Johnny Popham, and Gwen Mordecai song, Edith Evans recitations by D. D. Mordecai, Bertha Hill, Trephina John, and Catherine Davies tune, Cling to the Bible j" catechism in the history of Jesus Christ, con- ducted by the Pastor, in which the children displayed a deal of sharp and ready answers to the questions given, which greatly pleased the congregation recitations by Lizzie Mordecai, Annie Jane Jenkins, and Maggie Mordecai; song, Theophilus John recita- tions by S. A. Mordecai, Ltzzie Popham, Catherine Davies, W. Jenkins, W. John, W, D. Owen, Theophilus John tune, Some will laugh at sparkling water." Mr. Thomas Rees, Gadairwen, in his usual style, conducted the children, and Master David Davies ably accompanied. The entertainment throughout was greatly enjoyed.
