Plant iddynt hwy gofrestrwyd gyntaf yn Llyfr Oofrestriad Bedyddiadau yr egiwys, bedyddiwyd plentyn Wilson yn 1818, a phlentyn Jones yn 1819, y ddau ynPrestmyn oherwvdd nad oedd eglwys eto wedi ei ffurfio yn Ngronant. Nid oes neb o ddisgynvddion y naill nar Hail yn yr ardal yu awr: y rnao y Wilsons presenol wedi hanu'o frawd Edwar Wilson o'r enw Thomas Wilson. Yr oedd y teuluoedd a enwyd yn Fetho- uistiaid selog a baan y dechrauasant ymgynnll at eu gilydd i gynal moddion yn eu tai. Y pregethwr cyntaf a ddaeth i bregethu iddynt oedd John Edwards, Plas yn Nghaerwys, yr hwn a adwasnid betyd fel John Edwards y Farrier ac nid hir y buwyd heb sefydlu cangeu eglwys reolaidd yn y lie. Y personau fu yn cymeryd y rhan atniycaf yagiyn a ffur- fiad yr eglwys oeddyut Mr Julm Edwards, Plas yn Nghaerwys a Mr Thomas Evans, Maes y Coed. Buont am dros ugain rnlynedd wedi sefydlu Eglwys cyn cael tir i adeilada capol arno. Yn y tai y cynelid y moddion ar y cyntaf, ac enwir Ty Mawr a Tv'n'rafon fel lleoedd v bu yr arch yn arcs ynddynt ond y lie y mao preswylwyr hynaf y gymydogaeth yn colio en hunain yn ymgynull iddo gyntaf ydoedd Ysgubor y Pentref, Cymerodd y frawdoliaeth yr ysgubor am ardreth 0 t-5 yn flvnvddol gan Mr Peter Hnghes taid Mr Thomas Hughes sydd gyda i den!a yn preswyiio yu y ffenn yn bresenol. Y blaenoriaid cyntaf a ddewiswyd oeddvnt Hugh Williams a David Jones y cyfbirwyd atyrit o'r blaen a chawsant fyw ar hyd cyfnod yr Ysgubor ac i weled yr achos yn gysurus yn y capel cyntaf. Ond nid bwy fu rnng fiaenoriaid yr egl wys tra yn yr Ysgaboi Oddeutu v flwyddyn 1880 ymsefydludd Peter Owens (brodor o Dyserth) a'i wraig yn yr ardal, ac yr oedd eu cymeriad eu sel a'u defu- yddioldeb gyda'r acbos yn gyfryw fel y dewis- wyd Peter Owens yn flaenor yn bur taau. Mercb iddynt hwy ydyw Mrs Morris, gwwidw y diweddar Barchedig John Morris, Gronant, yr unig weinidog a fagwyd gan yr egiwys, yr hon sydd yn byw yn Nhy Capel yn awr. Felly, y mae teulu Peter Owens wedi bod mewn cysylltiad a'r a,chos bron o'j ddechrenad a gellir dweud nad oes un teulu y mae yr achos yn Gronant wedi derbyn mwy o nodded oddiwrtho na'r teulu hwn. Colwyn Bay v. Prestatyn. Welsh Amateur Cup, 2nd Round. The above match should have taken place at Prestatyn, bat a monetary offer by the Colwyn Bay Club was accepted by the Pres- tatyn Club and the game played at Colwyn Bay. Prestatyn were several men short, Mostyn, Jack Jones, Jos Parry, and W. Bell Jones failing to put in an appearance, and it was a very disorganized team that turned out 15 minutes late. W. R. Jones, J. P. Linnell, J. Roberts, and E. Newton filled the vacancies, whilst the Bay, remembering their previous defeat at Colwyn at the hands of the blues turned out full strength. Mr Russell, Chester, had charge of the whistle, and the Prestatyn team lined up as follows goal W. Glass backs J. T. Williams and Pryce Jones; halves T. Brooks, G. Glass, and J. Roberts; forwards R. Hughes, E. Newton, W. R. Jones, J. P. Liuneil, E. Holbrook. R. Hughes won the toss for Prestatyn, and McCann kicked off for the Bay against both slope and wind, before a good gate. Pres- tatyn were the first to make a move, R Hughes getting well down, but his centre came to nothing. Still keeping up the attack G. Glass just missed scoring. The visitors were now having all the best of matters, but at last Colwyn broke away on the right and from a centre by Owen, McCann scored a simple goal. The visitors broke away on the left but were driven back, and McCann raced up the field and sent in a shot which Glass stopped, but he allowed the ball to slip out of his fingers and roll into the net. But the Pres- tatynites were in no way disheartened at their ill-luck and now attacked with vigour, R. Hughes having the hardest of lines in not scoring. Colwyn Bay again attacked and I y 11 1 Pryce Jones handled the ball, a penalty being granted, but this proved of no avail, and the blues again attacked. The interval arrived with the score Colwyn Bay 2, Prestatyn O. On resuming Colwyn Bay at once attacked but without success. W. R. Junes infringed the handling rules and penalty No 2 was awarded, which was safely put in the net. The visitors again had a look in and played with vigour, the home custodian saving some well aimed shots. End to end play was now the order, but from one of these rushes McCann scored with a grand cross shot. From now to the finish the game went in favour of the Bay, but the visitors defended well. Final score: Colwyn Bay 4 Prestatyn 0. Considering the poor team they had on the held and the strength of. their opponents Prestatyn did very well indeed, for the Bay were very lucky in getting the two goals in the first half, whilst one of the others was from a penalty. Still they thoroughly deserved to win, and I am sure the Blues do not begrudge them the right to play in round 8. They will now have to journey to Llandudno. Glass was not up to his usual form, but Pryce Jones and J. T. Williams gave a good display. -I- In the half back line Tom Brooks played a rattling game under difficulties, whilst W. R. Jones (who, by the way. is a brother to Lovey Jones of Stoko) also played a good game. Glass (who came forward in place of W. R. Jones) Holbrook, a.nd R. Hughes, were the pick of the forwards. With Jack Jones (who I should like to see in the centre), W. Bell Jones, and Mostyn back, the Blues will still be a team to be reckoned with, and they stand a chance second to none of winning the North Wales Junior Cup this year. SCRAPS. There is very little to chose amongst the teams in the Junior League. The name of the Prestatyn Football Club figured in the Stoke Football Pro- gramme last Saturday. What about this as an advert, for the town ? The name of J. P. Linnell has now been added to the list of official Referees, the local Secretary having been successful at the recent examinaLion. Two more ex-Prestatyn players turned out for Rhyl Combination team on Saturday in the persons of W. A. Stone and W. Jones (Will Tai).
