TENNIS MATCH. The return match between the Gronant Road and Bastion Road clubs was played on the grounds of the later on Wednesday after- noon, a goodly number of partisans of both clubs coming to witness the keenly contested games. The match ended in another victory for the Bastion Road clnb, the result being :— Sets. Games. The pretty grounds, bright dresses, good sport, and excellent tea, enabled those who had the good fortune to be present to spend a most enjoyable afternoon. The committee wish to thank all who took part, especially the ladies who assisted in the games and catering.
Sunday Postal Arrangements.
Sunday Postal Arrangements. The Sunday morning delivery of letters has now been extended over the whole of the Prestatyn area. Hitherto only a portion of district had a Sunday delivery, but now all on the houses on the Towyn and round Pen- rhwylfa Road are included.
The Parish Ground.
The Parish Ground. There does not seem to have been much headway made in this matter, and the only mention of it in the minutes is that a letter had been received from the Board of Agri- culture requesting to be furnished with a copy of the Order of the Local Government Board dated June, 1897, transferring the Powers of a Parish Council in regard to allotments. The Clerk was instructed to furnish the Board with a copy of the Order.

Prize Winners. ( At the Llanrwst show on Thursday among t the exibitors from this district were Messrs i Roberts (Dyserth Hall), whose sheep won ( four first prizes, and also a number of seconds ] and thirds. Mr Frank Bibby's cob also t carried off some first prizes in the horse r. section. 1
Fatal Motor Accident.
Fatal Motor Accident. A party consisting of Mr & Mrs E. H. Timson, of Solihull, and a chaffeur set out on Priday from Nant Hall, Prestatyn—where they had been staying-for a motor tour, and when about a mile outside Denbigh the car appears to have skidded, run into a wall, and turned somersault. Mr Timson, who Was driving, was pinned beneath the car and killed instantly. The chaffeur was seriously injured, but Mrs Timson escaped with slight injuries, but suffered considerably from shock.
The Parish Church.
The Parish Church. There was a very large congregation pre- sent on Sunday evening, when the Vicar preached. The offertory was in aid of putting the churchyard in better order. After the Sermon there was a service of s mg. when solos were beautifully rendered by Miss May Griffith, Mr Ridgeway Kermode, and Mr Darlington, Miss Lean presiding at the organ.
A Dangerous Corner.
A Dangerous Corner. Much has been said and written regarding the dangerous corner near the school, and the suggestion that the authorities should acquire some of the land to improve the spot has so far had no effect. There have been several accidents already, but it looks as though no effort will be made to alter the state of affairs until a fatality occurs. Only a few days ago a conveyance .and a cyclist met a motor car just at the bend of the road, and a collision Was narrowly averted, for it is impossible to See any distance ahead. The Parish Council should make a representation on the matter to the county authorities.

More Honours.
More Honours. Two more names will now be added to the already lengthy list of honours gained by pupils of this school. The result of the recent scholarship examination shews that two of the eight offered have been won by Dyserth School pupils, the first place in group two being secured by Mary Roberts (£5), and fifth place by Thos. G. Hughes (£2 10/-). For some years past the top place has invari- ably been secured by a pupil of this school, so that Mr Thomas, the headmaster is deserv- ing of the highest compliment for his successful training, and his pupils are a credit to him.
Stiles.
Stiles. The Parish Council accepted the tender of Mr Edward Williams, Tyn-y-Ffynnon, to erect six new stiles on different footpaths in the parish. The most urgent one for attention, at Carreg Helin, was happily first erected. The new stiles are a great improvement in the interests of pedestrians.
Thorns and Briars.
Thorns and Briars. Many complaints have been made regarding the almost impassable condition of the footpath which leads from Ffordd Dywytl, passing the Dell property in the direction of Dyserth. On account of the fine view to be obtained from this point, many use the footpath but thorns and briars have partly covered it, which tear the ladies dresses and the feet of little children. Immediate attention to the matter is desirable.
Accident to a Cyclist.
Accident to a Cyclist. On Saturday evening last a young man, a native of Llanasa, met with an accident at Bryniau. He was cycling down the hill at a rapid pace, when he suddenly came in violent contact with a dog, and was thrown down. Fortunately he received but slight injuries and these were immediately attended to at the Castle Temperance Restaurant by a doctor visitor who had witnessed the mishap. After receiving medical aid he was able to resume his journey. O J
Foolish Cyclists.
Foolish Cyclists. Cyclists hereabouts are not deficient in self-confidence judging from the foolhardy way in which they ride down the perilously steep hill, which passes the Wesleyan Chapel down to the village. Happily no accident has occurred lately, but serious results will be the outcome unless riding at a tremendous speed is stopped. The authorities ought to take the matter in hand, and insist upon cyclists, motor-car owners, etc., to walk so as to insure the safety of themselves, and especially the little children who are joyfully partici- pating in their innocent games.
Rev. W. O. Evans
Rev. W. O. Evans preached his farewell sermons at the Wesleyan Church on Sunday last. Large congrega- tions attended both morning and evening services, and listened attentively to very effective discourses. It is pleasing to note that after 12 weeks' illness, the gentleman is improving in health, and the ardent desire of all is for his complete recovery. Mr Evans will leave the circuit at the end of the present month for Bootle, and the Rev T. O. Jones (Tryfan), Manchester, will be his successor.
Ministerial Visit.
Ministerial Visit. Dyserth residents, especially the Wesleyans were greatly pleased to see the Rev. J. Williams the Superteudent of Ripley Wesleyan Circuit, in their midst spending his much needed holiday. Mr Williams is a native of Dyserth, and his aged and respected mother Mrs Williams lives at Penisa. The rev. gentleman has for many years devoted time I y to missionary work in foreign parts. He is a very popular preacher, and ardent worker. Many of his intimate friends regret his departure without having had the privilege of hearing him preaching ou ce more at his native Church. —
A SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR.
A SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR. The Schoolroom on Tuesday presented a most animated appearance, the occasion being the bazaar held in connection with the Parish Church. It is some years since a similar event was held here, and for months past the utmost enthusiasm had prevailed amongst the ladies of the parish, who, with Mrs Evans Jones at their head, had spared neither time nor trouble to make Tuesday's gathering a success. And when one looked round at the many beautiful things on the stalls, it was then that it could be fully realised what a deal of labour their production had involved. But the result must have fully repaid the ladies for their trouble. The bazaar was well patronised throughout the day, and there was a good attendance at the opening, which ceremony was performed by Mrs Townshend Mainwaring, of Gallt- faenan, Trefnant, a member of a very ancient and honoured family. The Vicar introduced Mrs Mainwaring, and also explained the object of the bazaar, which, he said had been got up to raise funds for providing a heating apparatus for the Church interior, the total expenditure involved being about £120. The rev. gentleman paid a very high tribute of praise for the excellent manner in which the ladies had worked. They had met at the Vicarage every week for the pust four months, and the splendid result of their labours was to be seen that day. Mrs Townshend Mainwaring then declared the bazaar open, wishing it every success, and expressed the wish that the hopes of the promoters would be fully realised. An interesting feature at the opening was the presentation to Mrs Mainwaring (who is 96 years of age) of a bouquet by Mrs Evans, who is 88 years of age. and the oldest woman living in Dyserth. It might be also mentioned here that there were two other old ladies in the company whose ages were 84 and 81 respectively, the ages of the four ladies reaching a total of 849 years. On the proposition of Mr Joseph Thomas, seconded by Mr Thame, the heartiest thanks of the gathering was accorded Mrs Mainwaring for opening the bazaar, and who gave the day's business a very excellent start by sub- scribing £10 to the fund. The stallholders were as follows :— Plain work stall: Mrs Thame, Mrs J. Roberts, Mrs Thomas. Mrs Harris, Mrs White. Fancy stall Mrs Morrell, Mrs Simons, Mrs Morris, Miss Kellett, Miss S. E. Roberts. Mixed Stall: Mrs and Miss Day, Miss Roberts, Miss C. Hughes, and Miss Whittingham. Fruit and flower stall Miss Troasdell, Miss Lock, Miss L. Roberts, and Miss Lewis. Refreshment stall Miss West, Miss Stubbs, Miss Sellars, Miss E. Randies, Miss E. Richards, and Mrs Evans. The usual side shows" were fully in evidence, including a fish pond, shooting gallery, electric battery, etc, etc, and these were in the charge of Miss Day. Mr \V. Ellis, Mr A. Thomas, MrVenables, Mr E. Hughes, and Mr Joseph Roberts. ivaliiable assistance was also rendered by a number of other willing helpers. The amount realized was J683.

Scholastic Success.
Scholastic Success. On Monday morning appeared the result of the examination for entrance scholarships to the Holywell County Schools, and it is pleasing to find that Master Roderick Thomas Davies and Miss Lydia Jones, of the Ffynnon- groew School succeeded in carrying off the two £ 6 scholarships heading the list with 745 and G60 marks respectively. Much credit is due to Mr Jones (schoolmaster) for the able way in which he teaches his scholars for the examination. The result of the probationers examination will probably be published in a few days.
Appointment.
Appointment. Mr Joseph Parry Jones, Pen-y-ffordd, has just been appointed student teacher at Ffynnongroew Council School.
Excursion.
Excursion. On Wednesday the scholars of 'Siloah' Welsh Congregational Church visited Denbigh for their annual treat. The scholars left the Chapel at 10 a.m. in brakes accompanied by many friends. The weather proved very favourable, and an enjoyable day was spent.

County Cricket. r At Mostyn Park a two-days' match was concluded on Wednesday evening, between representative teams of Flintshire and Den- bighshire. Flintshire going in first made 241 in the first innings, the chief contributors being Howell G. Jones 64, J. Inglis 57, A. C. Roberts 49, Glyn Jones 19, and J. Lindop 17. Denbighshire in the first innings were dismissed for 178, Lewis being responsible for some splendid bowling. A. P. Brown made 58, B. A. Lloyd 33, F. Jagger 21, L. O. R. Ashley 16, and C. C. Mott 17. In the second innings Flintshire declared at 164 for five wickets. Howell Jones not out 104, A. C. Roberts 19, J.Lindop not out 15 were the prin- cipal contributors. Denbighshire in the second innings only made 64. This is the first occasion on which Flintshire has beaten Denbighshire. The match was witnessed by the elite of the neighbourhood, and Lord and Lady Mostyn were among the spectators.

Treat at Tyn-y-Morfa.
Treat at Tyn-y-Morfa. The annual Sunday School treat of the Calvinistic Methodist Chapel was held at Tyn-y-morfa Farm on Saturday afternoon. A good muster of soholars assembled, and a splendid tea was supplied to all present. After tea the children enjoyed themselves in various ways, the elders doing their best to make the treat as enjoyable as possible. The children sang in splendid tune several pieces led by Mr R. Conway and Mr Jones (Brynteg Shop). A most pleasant afternoon was spent.

Progress of the Quarry Company. It is pleasing to be informed that the Talacre and Gwespyr Stone Company is now making good progress. A goodly number of b ?-, masons and labourers are employed there.
Presentation to Mr. Bulcock.
Presentation to Mr. Bulcock. The sympathy of the workmen and the villagers is with Mr Bulcock in his illness, and on all hands his speedy recovery is wished for.
