CRICKET NOTES. Prestatyn v. Rhyl Commercials. Played at Prestatyn on Saturday. Rhyl batted first but were all dismissed for 42 runs, of which T. Clews made 14 with beautiful cricket, and Smith 12. The bowling was equally divided, Messrs Wood- ward, Cain, and J. P. Linnell capturing three wickets each. The home fielding was the best of the season. J. Roberts kept wicket very well, and Messrs Oxlade and Bayfield made good catches. Prestatyn made a bad start, losing J. Roberts and I. Eames with only one run on the book, but Woodward, Cain, and Oxlade hit so well that the Rhyl score was passed for the loss of four wickets. Finally the locals won by 32 runs with three wickets still to tall. The Prestatyn score was as follows J. Roberts b Griffiths 0 1. Eames b Mills 0 A. E. Woodward b Griffiths 16 J. Oxlade b Williams 6 G. Cain b Griffiths 20 G. Linnell b Griffiths 0 J. P. Linnell not out 9 B. Haworth b Griffiths 5 LI. Roberts not out (j Extras 12 Total for 7 wickets. •—74 W. Inglefield and M. J. Bayfield did not bat. A. E. Woodward made his first appearance for the locals on Saturday, and proved a source of much strength in both bowling and batting. W. A. Jones was chosen to play for Flint- shire this week but was unable to do so owing to being away in South Wales. The team for Rhuddlan next Saturday will include A. E. Woodward, G. Cain, J. Oxlade, and W. A. Jones, but will lack the services of the brothers Linnell.
