TREGARON.—PETTY SESSIONS.—These sessions were held on the 26th instant, at the Talbot Hotel, before COLONBI. POWELL, M.P., INGLIS JONES, Esq., and E. J. ROGERS, Esq.—Thomas Hughes, farmer, Tanyresgair, Llanddewi-brefi, appeared on remand, in custody of Sergeant Lyons, charged by Mr. James Price, tanner, Tanybank, Caio, with having on the 27th of November last stolen two ewe lambs, his property, from off a sheepwalk, at Blaencothy, Llan- ddewi-brefi. Mr. D. L. Price, solicitor, appeared for the prosecution, and Mr. J. M. Davies, barrister, for the defence. Committed for trial at the ensuing assizes at Cardigan, but subsequently admitted to bail, himself in £ 100, and two sureties in C50 each. -Rees Evans, labourer, Tregaron, was charged by Colonel Powell, M.P., on the information of David Davies, gamekeeper, with having on the 6th instant, at Gilfachydwn-fawr, trespassed over lands in pur- suit of game with a gun. Fined R,2 and costs, which were paid. Colonel Powell retired from the bench during the hearing of this case.-Thomas Morgans, labourer, Gibraltar, Llanddewi-brefi, and John Tho- mas, Gwarllyn, Llangeitho, were charged by Mr, S. Lewis, Bryn-Ayron, on the information of Thomas Aich, gamekeeper, with trespassing in pursuit of game, on the 2nd instant, over lands at Cefnyrynn, Llanbadarn-Odwyn. Fined J&l 5s. each, and 7s. 6d. costs each, which were paid.-P.C. David Morgans charged Edward Jenkins, of the Rose Inn, David Timothy, of Plas, and Rees Rees, of the Three Horse- Shoe Inn, all of the village of Llangeitho, innkeepers, with having on Sunday, the 3rd instant, kept their houses open during prohibited hours for the sale of drink. Fined 5s. and 7s. 6d. costs each, which were paid.—The overseers of the poor of the parishes of Caron-is-clawdd, Caron-uwch-clawdd, Lledrod, Llan- geitho, Gorwydd, and Nantcwnlle, were charged by Mr. David Williams, Abercoed, treasurer to the Tre- garon Board of Guardians, with having disobeyed an order of that board, made on the 25th of September last, by neglecting to pay various sums comprising the contributions of their several parishes. Ordered to pay in a week, with 5s. 6d. costs each; or in de- fault distress warrants to be issued. TREGAKON.n^-Inglis Jones, Esq., of Derry Ormond, with a benevolent consideration for the poor of this place, has lately transmitted to the Rev. John Hughes, vicar of Caron, for distribution amongst them the handsome sum of -£ 10. It is pleasing to find that sometimes, when a happy event occurs, the hearts of the poor and lowly are made to rejoice by the munificence ot the wealthy. Such is the case in this instance tor the poor of Tregaron now rejoice on the occasion of the birth of an heir to Derry Ormond, which happy event was announced in the last number of the OBSERVER.
