JOHN JAKIES, Proprietor. WILLIART THOMAS, Manager. 'PHE Proprietor of the above Establishment is happy to announce that he has just received his NEW YEAR'S STOCK OF TEAS, which are of remarkable purity and excellence perhaps there is no article of consumption that requires a greater nicety of judgment than the selection of TEA, and that judgment can only be acquired by a practical and intimate connection with the great Importing Houses in the Metropolis. The Proprietor begs to state that his judgment in the selection of Tea is accurate and mature; and the High Class Teas he has brought into Wales will be found very different in quality to those sold by mere Grocers. These words are not written with any feeling of dis- respect, but only as a matter of Fact. When, therefore, the Propritor says that his Teas will be found superior and of a better quality than usually to be met with in the Trade, he is merely recording a Fact, and all who really wish to partake of First Class Article in Tea, will do well to realize that Fact by purchasing a sample at the above well stocked Tea Establishment. The New Year's Stock of Teas are now on Sale. TO BUILDERS ,& OTH:E:RS. AT THOMAS GRXFFXTBS's THE "LION" TEA SHOP, Opposite the Lion Hotel, Aberystwyth. THE qaantity of Tea imported this year is unusu- ally large, amongst which are to be found some of very superior quality. The present and late pres- sure in the Money Market has enabled T. G. to se- cure a lot of Teas at extremely low prices-in some instances at a lower figure than the original cost! and lie now gives that advantage to his numerous friends and customers. T. G., although only a "mere Grocer," and having no "intimate connection" with Importing Houses," (except through Brokers,) challenges competition with any Establishment in the place, both as regards quality and price, as, for one reason, in respect to the latter, he has no expensive "managers" and as- sistants to pay out of his profit. With sincere pleasure we welcome into the field this new candidate for public regard. It be- longs to a class of writing that we cannot have too much of-honestly bold and not presumptuous— profoundly religious, and not uncharitable solid in thought, and not heavy manner. Its piety, based on a deep veneration for divinely revealed truths, is at the same time quite free from the bigotry that distrusts or denounces modern science; and its tone and temper are full of the spirit of Christian fraternity. Such, at least, is the impres- sion we have derived from the contents of this inaugural number, which, if duly matched by those that are to follow in its wake, must prove the har- binger of a happy career. Rarely indeed are the graver topics of the day handled and discussed after so agreeable and winning a fashion as in the article forming the first of intended series under the desig- nation of' Evenings with Friends and Books;' nor can we forbear from presenting here a fragment of it, before taking our leave, for the present, of this truly valuable miscellany.Brighton Times.
