THE Office of District Medical Officer of the Ragland District," comprising the parishes of Langoven, Landenny, Penrose, Penyclawdd, Ragland, and Tiregare, has become vacant. The Salary is £25 per annum, which includes pay- ment for attendance, the supply of medicines and all eutgicat appliances. The payment in surgical and midwifery cases is regulated by the scale in the order of the Poor Law Commissioners, bearing date the 24th day of July, 1847. The Guardians hereby give notice, that on Satur- day, the 18th of October, they will proceed to elect a gentleman to fill the situation. Candidates must possess the qualifications specified in article 168 of the order above referred to, and con- form to the regulations of the Poor Law Commis- sioners-the particulars of which, (or any other in- formation required) may be had on application to the Clerk. Applications for the office accompanied with tes- timonials are requested to be sent to the Clerk at his office, on of before Friday, the 17th instant. Canvassing the Guardians by or on behalf of any candidate, is strictly prohibited, and will be held to to be a disqualification of any candidate pursuing that course. By order of the Board, E.
