Llewelyn, with the waggons, &c. and, much to the honour of the several -corps, iiuund them all improved in discipline, and ready to combat the .o vaunting foe, who has so Jong menaced us with invasion. On Saturday last, the 4th or Derllis battalion of Carmarthenshire Volunteers were 'inspected bv Col. Stewart on Laugharne common, in marehin* order, with the carts appropriated for the convey- ance of the corps. Although the orders for inspec- tion were received only late on Wednesday, and notwithstanding the busy season of the year, this truly patriotic corps mustered very Strang on the occasion. The carts being furnished with seats, were drawn up in companies, and mounted by the men. They then proceeded regularly along the road towards Carmarthen, and returned to the common, where they agnin drew up on their for- mer ground, and at a signal the men dismounted, formed by companies, and marched into line. The experiment, though never before tried, was per- formed with the most perfect order and regularity, and received the unqualified approbation .f the In- specting Field Onicer, who also expressed himself perfectly satisfied with the" appearance and ap- pointments ot thp corps, and convinced of the uti lity of the carts, it there should he occasion for their services. The corps afterwards performed several evolutions under LieuL-Col. Williams, the worthy Commandant, who, on dismissing the bat- talion, addressed it briefly, stating, that the daring attempt at lIlvaSlüH was dailv expected to be made, and, on that event, he doubted not that the Vo- lunteers would prove the salvation of the country. The officers and men testified their unanimous de- termination to contribute their share in answering their worthy Colonel's expectation by three hearts cheers, and expressed their readiness to march instantly, upon the alarm, to assist-in the giorion • work of preserving inviolate our religion, liberties, and laws, and chastising the temerity of our pre-' sumptuous invaders. Tuesday iast the first battalion ofEreconsliire vo lunteers, with ttieir waggons, &c. were inspected bv Col.
