A DANGEROUS CAPGO. A telfgram from Queeustowu says the pilot cutter Maid of Erin, while cruising cff the coast yesterday, passed upwards of 50 cans of sulphuric ether. Subsequently the crew- picked up a fishing yawl, 20ft. in length, and fears are entertained that there has been loss of life, as the cans were evidently a portion of the vessel's cargo. The cans were cylindrical-shaped, and each contained five gallons of sulphuric ether.

The circumstances attending the match at Salford to-day ( Wednesday) between Clamor- ganshire and Lancashire were of a distinctly unfavourable cnaracter so far as the 'Welshmen were concerned It will be remembered that when the county club committee selected the Glamorgan fifteen at tho Royal Hotel, Swansea, the western criticism of the list was sharp and Severn there being a pretty genera! opinion that but scant justice bad been rion« to the Swansea Ciub at any rate.
