Lord Brougham especially urged the necessity j of Government interference in establishing such schools. Earl Granville assured the noble and learned lord that the subject was under consideration by the government, ( and that a bill would be introduced in a short time. f IRISH NATIONAL EDUCATION. The Earl of Eglington, disclaiming hostility to the sys- tem of National Education in Ireland, moved for a select committee to inquire into its workings, an inquiry ren- J dered necessary by the circumstauces which led to the J withdrawal of the Archbishop of Dublin, Lord Chancellor Blackburne, and Baron Greene. j The Earl of Aberdeen was at first disposed to resist the motion, as, to indicate any doubts of the inestimable bene- fits conferred on Ireland by the national system, would 5 lose nothing by inquiry, and as the noble carl disclaimed g hostility, he would not offer the slightest opposition to the i motion. j The motion was agreed to. g
