LONDON MARKETS, &c. 1 LONDON CORN EXCHANGE, MONDAY, FEB. 20. Considerable inactivity prevailed in the demand for wheat in the country markets held on Saturday, notwith- standing that the supplies on offer were but moderate. All spring corn—the receipts of which were on the increase moved off heavily, and the currencies had a downward tendency. The quantity of English wheat received fresh up to our market to day, coastwise, were very moderate, and in market to day, coastwise, were very moderate, and in middling condition. By land carriage, the supply was small, and the show of samples was, consequently, limited. Notwithstanding that the news from Russia is very war- like, and that we had a fair number of country millers in attendance, the demand for most kinds of wheat^or home produce was in a sluggish state, at last Monday s prices. For forward delivery, so little was doing, that the quota- tions were almost nominal. „ .N ew UJd. Shillings per Quarter. All kinds sold readily at the extreme rates of Monday, and a clearance was readily effected. Most of the importers of foreign wheat demanded more money; hence, the business doing was not extensive. Prices, however, were fully supported. We have an improved inquiry for barley, at extreme rates. There was only a moderate inquiry for malt on former terms. The oat trade was firm, and there was more disposition shown to purchase flower. SMITHFIELD CATTLE MARKET, FEBRUARY, 20. Owing to the strong gales of Saturday, several steamers laden with stock have not made their appearance conse quently the show of foreign beasts, sheep, and calves here to-day was limited. f v From our own grazing districts the receipts of beasts fresh up this morning were very moderate but in fair ave- rage condition. DEA It SIR,—Having for several years past been a great sufferer from obstinate and convulsive cough, attended with, anrlaggravated by, an acculllula' ion of mucus-so severe as sometimes to almost strangle me, and being accidentally directed to the announcement of your preparation, entitled, Pectoral Oxymel of Horehound," I resolved to make a trial of it. I took one Thirteen Pence Halfpenny Bottle, and before I had finished it, the effect to me was as astonishing as it was salutary- such as Iliad never before witnessed. It aimost instantaneously allayed my cough, softened the phlegm, and me of what was both a vast annoyance and a grievous affliction. Cunsidering that the remedy, wele its merits geneially known, would prove a public benefit, I do feel much pleased \*ith having an opportunity to thus render my hu.i ble, but truthful attestation in recommendation of its use in cases, which by no means are fe w, analogous to my own. I remain, Sir, yours respectfully, To Mr. Gco. Ackrill, Druggist. Micah Thomas. From the Rev. D. Lewis. Llanvapley, April 5th, 1853. DEAR Srn,-Some time ago I was afflicted with a severe cold and cough, 1'01 the removal of which 1 tried 6eve, al reineuies to no purpose. Having heard oC your celebrated Pecttral Oxymel of Horehound," I resolved to give it a fair trial. I had one Thirteen Pence Halfpenny bottle ,of it. It ripened the cold and loosened the cough, and produced frequent expectoration-in fact, my cold and cough had left me entIrely 111 less than two days. I feel much pleasure in bearing my humble testimony to the wonder- ful efficacy of your most valuable preparation, and am desirous of mikiiv its merits as extensively known as possible. Wishing y. u abundant success in your praiseworthy endeavours to relieve suffer- ing humanity, I remall1, yoursw To Mr. G. My cough and breath were that bad, I could not work nor lie down, but was obliged to sit up in bed all night, III fact was so ill, that it was a general remark amongst my neighbours, how very i1l Mr. Rumsey is looking-he wlil not be with us long." 1 believe 1 should have been in my grave before this, if I had not taken your valuable Pectoral Oxymel of Horehound and Pills; the first dose or two gave me ease, and in less than forty-e ight hours it had so relieved my cough and breath, that J was able to lie down in bed and sleep soundly, \I J¡ich I had not been able to do for a long time and by the time I had taken the bottle of Horehound and the box of Pills, it had quite cured my cough and removed all my pains, in fact, reswred me to perfect health.
