I THE CHURCHES. The annual meetings of the Pembrokeshire Calvinistic Methodist Temperance Association were held at Trevine on Thursday. The conference iu the afternoon was well attended, Mr Samuel Watts Williams, St, David's, in the chair. In the evening a public meeting was held, under the presidency of the Rev. George Morgan, Newport. A resolution was adopted respectfully appealing to the licensing benches to discontinue granting occasional liceuce3. Farewell meetings to Captain and Mrs Felt- well, of the Salvation Army, were held at Tros. nant Barracks, Pontypool, on Sunday and Mon- day, when addresses were delivered dealing with their good work during their 12 months' stay in the district. The captain and his wife have been drafted to Newport. On Sunday afternoon Nazareth Congrega- tional Church, Pontlottyn, presented their pastor, the Rev. J. R. Brynmaen, on completion of 25 years' ministry, was presented at a meeting on Saturday with a purse of gold. Mr J. Leyson, who presided, said Mr Harris had not only worked faithfully for his own church but had been a. great assistance to all good movements in Swansea and neighbourhood. The presenilation was made by Mr C. B. Griffiths, the treasarer, on behalf of the church. The Rev. Hugh P. James, curate of St. Fagan's Church, Aberdare, has been offered tha j vicarage of Pontycymmer in succession to the Rev. T. Tissington, vicar of Cwmpark and Treorby. j Mr I. G. Rees, lay reader, of St. Matthew's i Church, iFreorky, has accepted a curacy at Pontygwaith. The autumnal session of the Radnor and Montgomery Baptist Association has been held at Velindre, the Rev. W. G. Mansfield pre. siding. Sunday school work received special attention. Resolutions on the licensing ques- tion, the Education Act. and the Macedonian atrocities were passed. It was unanimously re- solved to strongly recommend the application from Llandrindod Wells church for a grant from the Baptist Twentieth Century Fund for the erection of a new chapel. On Tuesday the recognition services of Rev. W. D. Rowlands, Old Wall Chapel, Gower, on appointment to the pastorate of Trinity Methodist Chapel, Llanelly, were held, and there was a large assemblage of local ministers.

WEDDING. Griffiths-Williams. On Tuesday, at Roath-road Wesleyan Church, Cardiff, the wedding took place of Mr John Henry Griffiths, eldest son of Mr Richard J Griffiths, Mackintosh-place, and Miss Mabel Winifred Williams, second daughter of Mr Philip Williams, Rutland House, Newpovt-road, Cardiff. The Rev. Dr. Richardson officiated, assisted by the Rev. Allan Spencer. The best man was Mr Arthur Griffiths, brother of the bridegroom, The bridesmaids were Miss Lilian Williams, sister of the bride, and Miss Gertrude Griffiths, sister of the bridegroom. The bride's dreas was of taffeta, chine, trimmed insertion I and chiffon roses, with lace veil over the coronet of orange blossoms. The lace veil was the bride's mother's, worn on her wedding day. The Court train was of ivory satin and chiffon, lined with taffeta-de-chine. The bride carried a shower taffeta-de-chine. The bride carried a shower 'bouquet of orchids, white roses, lilies of the I valley, &c. The bridesmaids wore blue crepe de I chine dresses with shaded pink sashes incrusted < with Teneriffe medallions and ruching, and they carried showerbouquets of pink roses and white heather. The bouquets were the gift of the bride- groom. The bride's travelling costume was of blue hopsach, with champagne cloth facings and Renaissance motifs, with large black picture hat. The dresses were made by Messrs David Evans and Co., Queen-street. The bridegroom's pre- sent to the bride was a gold curb bracelet and a keeper ring of diamonds and sapphires. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a Masonic gold pendant. The bridegroom's presents to the bridesmaids were gold bangles. After the mar- riage ceremony there was a reception at Rutland House, and in the course of the afternoon the newly married couple left by train for Salisbury, where the first part of the honeymoon will be spent.

THE LLYN VI RIVER SUICIDE. Mr Cntbbertson (coroner) held an inquest on Tuesday at Caerau Police Station touchrng tbe death of Sarah JaneHicksfwife of Walter Hicks, collier, 8, Caerau-road, Maesteg. Her body was found in the Llynvi River on Monday morning in a semi-nude state. The husband said his wife often complained of chilliness and giddiness, and had not been well since the birth of the last child. The jury returned a verdict of Suicide whilst of unsound mind."
