Dear Sir,-one of my sons went out to Canada last May, and settled down in the neighbourhood of Oil Springs, Lamb ton, Ontario, having taken to the farm- ing business. 80me months ago he wrote home saying- be had been on the sick list for several weeks suffering fearfully from piles, which had rendered him too weak to do any manual labour. Immediately I received bis letter I went to Messrs Pegl^i's and had a supply of your pills, wbich I forwarded to him. Three weeks ago he wrote home saying that your pills had done him 80me wonderful good. Before he had finished one box he waa able to start work again. Last night I had another letter from him, stating that to all appear ances the disease had left him, and he was in his usual health. Having accidentally heard that a man living in the same neighbourhood had been a great sufferer from piles for over twenty years, my sou sought him out, and gave him half of the box he had. Within four days the mau was jumpifag with joy from the good effects of your pills. Having received so much benefit from your pills personally, and witnessing their good effects on the man referred to, my son is very anxious that otber sufferers may know of them, and receive the same benefit from them as he had himself.- Yours faithfully, JOSEPH WILLIAMS, Publisher of Tyst. a'r Dydd newspaper and Cenad Hedd magazine. VERDICT of NINE HUNDRED."—Under this title Messrs R. J. Heath and Sons, Queen-street, Cardiff, pianoforte makers, orgau builders, and music ware- housemen have collected an imposing array of testi- monials dud Press opinions relating to the quality of the musical instruments supplied by them. The great mJ.1_J°rity of the letters in this list relate to pianos, and while many of them hRve 1"Îerence to most costly instruments, containing all (Sie latest improvements supplied to the well-to-do, the greater number relate to serviceable instruments purchased for the homes of the wage-earning portion of the community. This growing love for so refining an art as music is a most favourable sign. For though in the Principality music lias for generations been the chief recreation of the people, it has for the most part been choral music that has occupied attention. Instrumental music is now, however, receiving its fair share of attention, and all those in true sympathy with the art must trust that the movement will go steadily onward. These testimonials have been received from every quarter of ,the Princi- pality, while not a few come from other portions of the United Kingdom, and some from South America, India, and other distant countries. All speak most favourably of Messrs Heath's business methods as well as of their instruments. 2e R. J. HEATH AND SONS INVITE INSPECTION. We have pleasure in announcing the forthcom tng issue in the CARDIFF rjlIMES ANU SOUTH WALES WEEKLY NEWS of an original and stirring novel from the pen of Mr G. A. HENTY, the Popular Author of "The Curse of Carne's Hold," "Rujub the Juggler,' A Hidden Foe," With Clive m India," and a large number of other works which delight all readers of fiction, young and old. The New Story, which will be written in the vigorous style of this experienced novelist, is entitled "A WOMAN OF THE COMMUNE," and will run for a period of six months. The Opening Chapters will appoar in the CARDIFF fJIIMES AND sourlHWALE8 WEEKLY NEWS ON SATURDAY, APRIL 27TH. A few particulars concerning the Author will be of interest. Mr G. A. HENTY first saw the light at Trumpiugton, in Cambridgeshire. He received his education at Westminster School and Caius Col!ege, Cambridge, and was from thence despatched to the Purveyors' Department in the Crimea. Returning, he was promoted to the position of Purveyor to the Forces. To follow the vicissitudes of his subsequent career would require considerable space, but we may briefly state that he has travelled in almost every quartee of the globe in the capacity of special correspon- dent to the great London dailies. In his many wanderings his keenly observant nature has gleaned a knowledge of the various phases of human life which are embodied in his books. Readers of Mr HENTY'S booKs enjoy an in. tellectual treat almost, if not wholly, unequalled in the whole range of English fiction. His work is characterised by breadth of knowledge, wide range of experience, and facility of expression. The author of our new story gives the reader abundance of sensation, but it is of a thoroughly wholesome nature. All his works are of a high tone, and may safely be recommended for family reading. His plots are ingeniously constructed, and evolve themselves in masterly fashion. His stories, although crowded with incident, do not overstep the bounds of probability and a happy style of expression, combined with the plenitude of the author's vocabulary, lends additional charm to all that prooeeds from his admittedly gifted pen. THE FORTHCOMING NEW AND BRILLIANT STORY OF LOVE AND WAR, Å WOMAN OF THE COMMUNE, BY MR G. A. HBNTir- Author of "The Curse of Carne's Hold," The Plague Ship," A Hidden Foe," In the Days of the Mutiny," Dorothy's Double," In Freedom's Cause," "With Clive in India," &c., &c. PUBLICATION WILL COMMENCE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 27TH. A WOMAN OF THE COMMUNE, BY MR' G. A. RFNTY. The following outline will suggest theoharacter of the story. The author was in Paris in the days of the Commune, and was an eye-witness of many of the scenes described in the novel, which has an English and a French centr%of interest. The hero of the story, Cutthbert Hartington, is the son of a large English landowner. He dis- likes certain phases of country life, preferring to live among London studios. Meeting Mary Brander, whom he has known from childhood, aud who is the daughter of a scheming solicitor, he proposes, but is scornfully rejected. Shortly afterwards his father dies of heart disease, and to his consternation the young fellow discovers that what should have been his fortune is absorbed by the creditors of a bank in which his father is an alleged shareholder. Cuthbert now throws his whole energy into art as a profession, and goes to Paris as a student. While there the Franco-German War breaks out, and he and hiscompanion, the son of an American planter, participate in the struggle. During the war Cnthbert comes across Mary Brander, who is still on sisterly terms with him. Cuthbert and his companion, Arnold Dam- pierre, are severely wounded in a sortie, and Fate decrees that Mary Brander shall nurse them back to recovery. Meanwhile Dampierre has con- ceived an infatuation for Minette Dufaure, and this fact leads to much misunderstanding. Dam- pierre and Minette marry. The latter joins the band of the Communists, is caught red-handed in the work of incendiarism and is promptly shot, her husband preferring death by her side to free. dom. Cuthbert wins the heart of Mary, but his mind is not free from suspicion as to the disposition of his father's property. Various circumstances com- bine to strengthen his suspicions, and he de- termines to solve the matter thoroughly. His in- I vestigations result in an astounding discovery. The developments of the story are powerful and unexpected. With such materials to work upon, it may safely be assumed that Mr HENTY will present a powerful story, original in character, and con- taining the distinct elements of love, plot, and conflict, interspersed with descriptions of scenes both vivid and historical. DEAR SIR,—I beg to testify to the value of GWILYM EVANS QUININE BITTERS, as I think that you cannot recommend them too well. About a fortnight since I left my work- I commenced my illness by feeling -starved, and a nasty stinging and shooting pain in my head a doctor was called in, and he said it was the Influenza, and I suffered for over a week of the pains in my head, and the doctor's medicine did me no good. He doesn't want to fat, and for very gcod reasons. Unnecesd fat is a load to carry about; it interferes a man's power to work, shortens bis wi? and dnlls his wits. Yet, on the other hand, a certain a of flesh is needed for health and comfort, t example: A man five feet high should waif about 1201bs. a man five feet six in 145Ib! and a man six feet, 1781bs. In fact, he got weak and nervous that he shook all over, *< hisjhands trembled as if a current of electric were running through him. To use his own words: "I rapidly 1 flesh, was 1% stone lighter, and could ba walk about. Once my parents thought I fI dying, and sent in haste for the doctoi. saw two doctors in Epwortb and one Haxey, but they were not able to help f Our vicar. Rev. "Soon afterwards Mr Sharp, a chemis*' Epworth, spoke to me of the virtues ot medicine known as Mother Seigel's Curatilj Syrup. In a few days I felt better, presently I gained seven pounds in a At that rate I soon got back to my work, have had the best of health ever since. 1 these facts to everybody, and am perfeof willing they should be pub1íehed.-Y: truly (Signed), TOM CROSBY, Ferry-ro^ Epworth, via Doncaster, December 23^ 1892." After readiug Mr Crosby's story we scar need to ask why he lost flesh. Tbeminut8 stopped eating and digesting his usual alto ance of food he began to fall away. T they say, grow as much from the air by m of their leaves as they do from the soil. B* men don't. They've got to be built through their stomachs. Indigestion dyspepsia (Mr Crosby's complaint) stops process and poisons those whohave it, beíJid That accounts for all the painful and da gerons symptoms our friend speaks of. f doctors do what tbey can, but, unluckily, tit don't possess the medicine that goes to bottom of this disease and cures it. The medy is Mother Seigel's Curative Syrup, nothing else, so far as we know. It res digestion, and digestion covers the bones wi fat enough for health and good looks.
