GLAMORGAN SCHOOLS. A LOST EXAMINATION PAPER. Meeting of the Education Committee. Dr. T. H. Morris presided on Tuesday at a oieatiug of the Glamorgan Connty Education Committee held at Cardiff. The chief education officer (Dr. James) submitted a report as to the causes for ttfe payment of the Parliamentary grant on a lower scale in rcspect of Bchoola men- tioned in Lis report, ind this was refetred to the Non-provided Schools Committee and the Elementary Teachers' Work and Salaries Sub- committee. It was resolved that the Joint Sub-committee appointed to consider amendments of the Connty intermediate scheme be fixej for Friday, Sep- tember 29th, at 2 o'ctock. Mr William Qowells wasappointel a member of the governing body of the institutions at Swansea for deaf and dnmb and bliod children. Communications bad taken place between the Elementary Teachers' Work and Salaries Sub- committee Rnd the Board of Education, tbe Pontypridd District Council and the Swansea Corporation with regard to children from tbe county area who were taught in the schools of other authorities, and the corresponding qu<s- tion of children from other areu beinn taoaht in the Council schools. This, s/iid the clerk (Mr T. Mansel Fran/tien) WRS an important matter, affecting secondary, DS well as elementary schools, and they were affected by it all rannd. A special sub-committee was aDpoiotBd to deal with tbo whole matter with the view of making an arrangement with other authorities. A Jong discussion was initiated by the Rev. D H. Williams, Barrv, with reference to the three namea selected by the Staffing Committee for the headship of the new school at Ilhiwfawr, which will supplant the existing school at Ltwthyd. He complained of tbe exclusion of the name of the master of the adjoiaiug Gwrhyd school, and moved that bis name be added. Rev. John Davies, Cadle, seconded, bat the motion was reject cd. It was rsported "that the managers of the Cockett school ha j refused to accept a proposal of the Staffing Committee as to certain changes in the school staff. The Rev. J. Davios, Cadle, who is one of the managers, asked who had given this information to the Board or Education ? tie was a member of the committee; and had never heard of this refusal, neither was tbere" minute to that effect. FELL OUT OF HIS TRAP. Sad Death of a Kidwelly Resident. On Taesday afternoon the dead body of Mr John Morris, an elderly man, who resided at the Black Horseilnn, Meiocean, Kidwelly, was fonnd on a road on Pembrey Monntain, deceased having apparently been thrown out of his trap and killed. Mr Morris started with one of his sons to attend a sale at Tynewydd, Pembrey Mountain, on Tuesday morning, and within a short distance of their destination the soro left the father in the trap and proceeded across some fields. Tha old man, however, ne.er teached the sale, and on a search being made his dead body was found as stated above. It is surmised that he fell oat of the trap and dislocated his neck.
