Evans, Penmain, diweddar o Droedyrhjw, i aelodaeth o'n Cyfundeb. 4. That this Conference gratefully ncknowledges that considerable benefits have already been ex- perienced in the Principality of Wales as a result of the passing of the Act for stopping the sale of intoxicating liquors on Sunday, and are of opinion that the benefits would be largely increased in some districts if similar legislation were applied to England, where they believe it to be greatly needed. 5. That this Conference enteis its protest against the rejection of the Franchise Bill by the House of Lords, as having not only rejected a bill the principle of which they bad already en- dorsed, but have also by their action multiplied the efforts made to mature and pass other bills of great importance and although we do not regard with hostility the ancient and hereditary chamber of legislature, yet where that institution has de- veloped, as it seems to have done, into an ob- structing power, impeding and defeating useful and pressing legisation, we consider that in common with every other branch of the const.tu- tion it should be subjected to immediate reform. 6.
