The War. Sergt. Evan Jones, Machine Gun Section, 10th Batt. Welsh, 3rd son of Mrs. Jones, 42 Ceridwen Street, Mountain Ash. Met his death bv a sniper's bullet whilst on important duty in the early hours of May 30th last. Only a few hours previously steps had been taken by the C.O. to recommend him for a commission. Photo of Bombardier Ebenezer Evans, R.F.A., Military Medalist, son of Mrs. Evans, 100 John Street, Abercwmboi. Since he received the Military Medal Evans has been, made a Bombardier. Ab6ve is the photo of Wireless Mechanic Thomas Morris, Royal Flying Corps., who was promoted 1st Class Air Mechanic a month ago whilst on active service. He en- listed in November. 1915, as a Second Air Mechanic, and was sent to France within a month, where lie. has been since. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs.; W. Morris, Quarry House, Penrhiweeiber. Prior to en- listment he was employed in the lamproom at the Penrikvber Colliery. Concert in France. The Labour- Cqinpany, of which Major D. I Watts Morgan, the miners' agent, of Porth, is in command, recently en- joyed a concert behind the lines, though within shell range, in France. An excellent programme was given by the Cordite Party, and. over a thousand soldiers foregathered. Sergt.-Major Tom Lloyd, Army Ser- vice Corps, of Aberdare, conducted I the arrangements, and Corporal Tom Bevan, of Aberdare, took a promin- ent part.
