After an Attack. -
After an Attack. By common consent patients everywhere admit that they feel more depressed and miserable after an attack of Influenza than while under its influence, and more than they feel after an attack of any other illness. There is a want of "Go," a lack of cheerful- ness, depression of spirits, feeling of misery and helplessness, and such despondency as to be almost unbearable, the slightest exertion is fatiguing, what was considered a pleasure is a toil, the appetite had entirely gone, and to sum up, li Life is a burden to those who have not hitherto experienced for one day iu their lives such feelings of misery and helplessness The best way to banish these miserable feelings is to take nourishing food, aud moderate exercise, to avoid solitude, and mix in cheerful company, and to take Gwilym Evans' Quinine Bitters. We can strongly and confidently recommend this preparation, as it has treated severe cases of Influenza, extreme Weakness and Langcur, with geater success than any other known remedy, A few doses taken in time will drive away the sense of extreme helplessness and feeling of misery and weakness which afHicts patients after a severe attack. Gwilym Evans' Quinine Bitters is sold in bottles, 2: 9d. and 4s. (id. each. Beware of Imitations. See the name "Gwilym Evans" on Label, Stamp, and Bottle. He would do everything in his powpr to support any good cause for the benefit of the neighbourhood. He warmly complimented the audience on their good behavior during the evening. To use his own words, They had given to all a fair hearing." Mr J. H. Thomas, the genial manager of Lloysonen Gardens, here stood up and begged to second Mr Carver'e vote of thanks to the artistes, and re-echoed his words in complimenting both artistes and audience. GELLI W E N.
GELLI W E N. THE picturesque little village of Gelliwen has just been favoured with another visit by Mrs Brynferch Rees, Pontyrhil. Only very recently" Brynferch occupied the pulpit of Ainon Baptist Chapel as preacher of the Gospel, and on Tuesday, the 15th inst., she appeared in the same edifice and delivered her able lecture on "Y Gareg filldir auraidd," the Golden milestone. An exceptionally large number of tickets had been sold. The inclemency of the weather kept away many that had fully intended to be present for the treat. Plowevei, a good number came together, and greatly appreciated a lecture which proved, humorous, able, and edifying. The chair was by the Rev L. Price, Ffynon- bedr. Mr W. Palmer, Brynbank, proposed and Mr Thomas, Fronllan, seconded a vote of thanks to Mrs Rees for her lecture. Brynferch's" response was graceful and telling, and before resuming her seat pro- posed a vote of thanks to the Chairman, which was seconded by Mr Jones, school- master, Alma.

TALLEY.
TALLEY. THE Church Workers Guild in connection with the above Parish Church is now in full working order. Sir James Drummond, Bart, the president, the Vicar who is warden, and his industrious secretary, Mr D. W. Griffiths, assisted by a good working council, have carried out a series of successful meetings. The Rev A. T. Fryer, organising secretary of Additional Curates Society spent one busy Sunday here. He preached in the morning, addressed the Sunday School children, after- wards addressing the members of the guild, and after evening service delivering an exhaustive lecture, illustrated by magic lantern views, upon the growth of the town of Middlesboro and its urgent need of aid in Church work. Papers have been read upon the Rules of the Guild, and Gwaith yr Ysgol Sul by Messrs Greening and Daniel Jones, and others are promised. One even- ing was devoted to the presentation of a Bible and Prayer Book suitably inscribed and wishing God speed to Bro. A. Sydney Price, one of the council, who has left home to make his way in Ceylon. He was a most active young man in all kinds of church work, warden for the Primrose League in Talley, and no committee of any kind was complete without him. In his speech when returning thanks the Guild heard what a promising high-class speaker they were losing. His place will be very hard to fill. The presents received from all classes of friends were surprisingly numerous and valuable, and testify to his immense popularity.
