Morris-a gipsy named Emily Price was brought up in custody on remand charged with un- lawfully wounding another female gipsy named Sophia Price, at Barry Dock, on Thursday last. The parties had been encamping on some waste ground, and the result of a day's quarrelling was that prisoner took up a long piece of iron and dealt her a severe blow on the bead. Mr A. H. Bletso, painter, an eye-witness of the oc- currence. coiroborated the statement of the pro- secutrix, and Dr J. Livingstone detailed the nature of the woman's injuries. When he visited her first of all she was semi-conscious. She was suffering from a lacerated wound about an inch and a half over the frontal bone, from which blood was streaming. On the left shoulder there was an extensive bruise. Both the wounds could have been caused by the iron bar produced by P-C. Dacey. There was another bruise over the right hip, which was discoloured. By the Clerk The wound on the hip was one of the worst be had seen, and was dangerous. Prisoner was committed for trial to the next Quarter Sessions.
