DESTRUCTION oF Two INDIAMDN BY FIHE.—The arrival Of the Indian mail on Friday morning communicated the distress- ing losses by fire of two fine lndiamen, bound for England, involving a saci-ifice of property to the extent of little short of £ 60,GOO. The unfortunate vessels were the George Armstrong belonging to Liverpool, and the ship Cape Packet, for London' All the passengers and crew of the first escaped withoutinjury. With the exception of 400 barrels of sugar, the whole of the cargo was destroyed. The origin of the fire is attributed to the jute being shipped on board in a damp condition, and heat- ing eventually, broke out in flames. The Cape Packe! had on board a rich cargo of China produce, the whole of which was destroyed; no lives were 1, s., or any person injured. No cause is assigned for the disaster.—Sunday Paper.
