Colwyn Bay and Colwyn District Council. To the Electors of the Colwyn Bay Ward. Ladies and Gentlemen, I beg to offer myself as a Candidate at the forthcoming Election, and if elected will do all that is in my power for Colwyn Bay. Nearly j £ 6ooo in Rates was collected in the District during the present year, but we have had no improvements worth mentioning during the last two or three years for the money. There is no doubt that Colwyn Bay has advantages which no other place on the Coast, or any part of the British Isles, can compare with. Where are there such beautiful woods, lovely walks, and bathing ground as at Colwyn Bay ? Yet, with all these advantages, we are allowing Colwyn Bay to be a second-rate place. If we wish to make the town a first-class watering-place, we must cater for our visitors their cry is for entertainments, concerts, and promenade, and those we must have if we desire to keep the visitors here, and so enable us to pay our Rates, &c. It is to be hoped that the new Board will consider a better way of collecting the Rates next year. If elected, I do not promise that all your troubles will be at an end, but it will be my endeavour to make the town a go-ahead place. As all our interests are centred in Colwyn Bay, it is to our benefit to do all we can for the pros- perity of the place. Soliciting your votes and favours on the 17th of December, I am, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, THOMAS ROBERTS. Cafe, Colwyn Bay, December loth, 1894.
