Herbert Roberts, from the Colwyn Bay Wesleyan Circuit. LOCAL SUCCESSES AT PRESTATYN EISTEDDFOD. —Miss Matty Lloyd, of Colwyn Bay, was awarded the prize in the soprano solo competition (the test- piece being "Ora Pro Nobis") at the Prestatyn Eisteddfod on April 16th, and in the trio competi- tion (on Dr Parry's "Duw bydd Drugarog") the prize was divided between the parties of Mr Edward Davies (of Colwyn) and Mr J. Dowell (of Rhyl). NORTH WALES ENGLISH CONGREGATIONAL UNION.—At this Union's 19th annual assembly, held, at Bangor, on April 21st, under the chairman- ship of the Rev. Dr. Herber Evans, the Rev. Thomas Lloyd, of Colwyn Bay, was appointed Secretary for the ensuing year, and it was reported that the Connexional Church at Colwyn Bay was now self-supporting. It was decided, on the motion of the Chairman-elect (Mr Frank Allmand), to approach the Railway Companies with the view of securing cheap tickets to parties desirous of attending religious assemblies so that they should have the like facilities as those afforded in the case of football matches and kindred amusements, cheap bookings being at present refused under a special but anomalous clause in the Railway Clearing-House regula- tions.
