For 23 weeks he was laid up, and was quite unable to work at ail. being- attended during part of that time by a London physician. On advice I had him removed to our home in Devonshire. Two doctors there said, after examining him, that he would never do any more work. Seeing your Moonseed Bitters advertised in the W ekly Record (Dorset), I determined to try a bottle. The first bottle gave him relief from the pain at his heart, which all the doctors' medicine could not do. He has no w taken ten bottles of Moonseed Bitters, and is as strong and well as ever he was in his life. I have no hesitation in saying that Moon. seed Bitters has saved his life. AN ECONOMICAL SMOKE CONSUMER, The Hopcraft Furnace, after long and severe testing, both experiment 1 and in everyday use, is to be brought actively before tlie public, a company having betn formed to introduce it. Anyone who has ever put small coals upon a fire knows that if they be thrown at the back of the grate great volumes of smoke are roasted out of them, whereas if the small coal be carefully disposed in front, with due attention to draught, the smoke, passing over the glowing coals behind, is ignited. This is the idea of Mr. Hopcraft's furnace. Sma,l coal, which costs about half the price of ordinary steam coal, cannot be used in ordinary boiler urnaces because of its tendency to cake, and because of the immelEe volume of smoke created. The advantages of the furnace may be summarised as a saving of some 50 per ct; in the cost of coal, better results as to steam production with a ton of coal slack than with a ton of steam coal, costing double the money, ued in an ordinary furnace, the saving of the wages of skilled stokers, reduced wear and tear of the grate and flues, and the entire absence of smoke. Whether on land or sea, this last advan- tage is an enormous one, and, combined as it is with so many economies, it cannot fail to recommend itself to steam users. The Hopcraft Furnace was se verely tested by the engineer of the National Smoke Abatement institution with very signifi- cant results. Everybody who wishes to have the smoky pall of London dispelled will be thankful to see the general adoption of a furnace which, by its conspicuous economy. tempts steam users to take greater care to consume their smoke. — Pitmnrial Sr>«e.
