An infallible remedy, FOR COUGHS COLDS HOARSENESS ASTHMA AND INFLUENZA. FROM time immemorial LINSEED has been pro- verbial for its virtues in the cure of Coughs and Colds, but until the scientific experiments of Mr Simco led to the method of preparing the Chemical Essence, it was merely used in the form of Tea, producing an oily, di^agreable, mucilage. The "Chemical Essence," conlains all the Medicinal virtues of Linseed in a highly concentrated form com- bined with other medicines and herbs, producing a medicine of the most valuable nature, and which in an astonishingly short time has attained a sale altoge- ther unprecedented. A single trial will prove its best recommendation. A tradesman in Northampton called on the proprietor for a bottle of his Essence of Linaeed he was very hoarse. and could scarcely articulate: he had taken a severe cold by being exposed in a rainy day and sitting with his wet clothes on. He said he felt aching pains in his head and in all his limbs, extreme lassitude, and very feverish. He opened the bottle and took a sup immediately, wiiich sup was double the ordinary dose (this was about two o'clock in the after- noon, and his cough was then distressing) he returned home and went to bed, about an hour after which he drank a basin of warm tea, and at night he took a dose more of the Essence of Linseed, and a basin of plain water gruel and the next morning he jot up free from fever and pains, with his voice clear, the hoarseness and sore throat being quite cured, and his cough much •bated.. For other cases of cures, handbills at the Agents will exhibit such as no olher medicine ever did perform. Sold in Bottles at Is. lid., 25. 9d. and 4s. 6d. each. Another ry Cure of Rhen- matic Gout, from Lincolnsliire, com- municated by Mr Noble, the General Agent for that County. (To Mr Prout, 229, Strand, London.) Boston, April 26, 1837. "Sir,—Among the numerous instances which have come to my knowledge of the beneficial effects produced by the n'e of Blair's invaluable Gout and Hhenmatic Pills, the following is so striking and so wen authenti. cated, that (with permission of the parties) I send it to yott for publication in any way you may think proper. Mary Barton, of Bolingbroke, in this county, aged 67, Lad been for twenty months afflicted in a violent degree with Rheumatic Gout. Her joints were so swollen, and her fingers contracted and stiffened to such an extent, that she was unable to get into or out of bed, or even to dress or undress herself, without assistance and so excruciating was the pain and agony she endured that sleep was to herself and husband almost a stianger. She despaired of relief, and much more of a cure, deeming her case hopeless. A benevolent gentleman residing in the village, hearing of her afflicted condition visited her, and presented to her a box of BLAIR S PILLS, by taking half of which she was greatly relieved, and two boxes completely restored her; so that from being an afflicted helpless cripple, she is now blithe and hearty, being able to perform all her household work m a manner that surprises her neighbours. For the truth of these statements I hare permission to refer (if bv letter, post paid.) to W. L. Kmm.t Esq, and Mr Thomas Brackenbury. Draper and Grocer. (Sub- agent for the sale of the pills), both of Bolingbroke. Wishing health and long life to yourself, remain, Sir, your obedient Servant, J. NOBLE, Agent at Boston." These Pills are taken without the least care or atten- tion. by either sex, young or old, and have the peculiar property of entirely removing the disease without debilitating the frame, which universally left in a stronger and better state than before the ma ady com. menced. And there is another most important effect belonging to this medicine-that it prevents the disease flying to the brain, stomach, or other vital part. Ask for Blair's Goat and Rheumatic Pills,^and observe the name and address of '-Thomas Prout, 229, Strand, London," impressed on the Government stamp, affiixed to each Box of the Genuine Medicine. March. 1838. j HOLLOWAY'S UNIVERSAl. FA. MI LY OINTMENT fTl The astonishing and almost miraculous effects of this pre- paration in the cure of the following dis- 'i^ orders, has induced ij inc* the Proprietor (at the suggestion of a large portion of the highest medical characters. not only of England but the continent) to extend the boon to every family not one (as a princi- pal member of the facnlty recently observed) ought to be without it. It will be found more efficacious in the following diseases than any other medicine extant. Ulcers, Wounds, Bad Legs, Nervous Pains, Rheumatic and Paralytic Pains. Gout, Contracted and Stiff Joints, Fains of the Chest and Bones, Difficult Respiration. &c. Its success has been astonishing in severe cases of Stony and Ulcerated Cancer, Scrofula, or King's Evil, in all skin diseases, as Ringworm, Scald Heads, &c., and ia Burns, Soft Corns, Bunions, &c. &c. Copy of a Letter from Edward Binns, M.D. F.S. A. Scot. &c. &c. MY DEAR SIR,-After reading the very strongly worded testimonials of Sir Benjamin Brodie and Mr Mayo, (names that would confer an immortality on any remedy), I was predisposed in favour of your Ointment, and made many trials in consequence, in cases of Chronic Ulcers, which a seven years' experience in the West Indies had taught me to consider as incurable by the ordinary methods resorted to. I am now happy to say that in -all cases it was, to my utter astonishment, really aud truly efficacious; and that I have not the slightest hesitation in adding, that I place the most entire reliance on it, in all diseases of the Epidermis, in enlarged Glands, and long-standing Ulcers. In sore Nipples, it is an excellent remedy. (Signed) EDWARD BINNS. London, 7, Milton Street, Dorset Square, Sept. 14th, 1837. Sold by the Proprietor, IS, Broad Street Buildings, London; Mr D.
