There are some shops where cheap drugs are sold, but where the quality of the goods is inferior in proportion to their cheapness in fact they are cheap and nasty. We, however, are establishing first-class shops, under the supervision of fully-qualified Managers, to retail the newest and best drugs to the people at reasonable prices. We commend the following facts to your attention: Don't buy Stale Drugs. We sell too fast to keep any, having such a number of outlets in different towns that quantities melt away like snow, and we are always having fresh supplies. We can beat any other chemists' prices in the kingdom, for the following five reasons :— 1. We have an immense turnover in other towns, which lightens expenses all round. 2. We buy very large quantities at one time to supply all our shops. 3. We must get on selling, and, therefore, mark prices down to the lowest point. 4. We give the public the benefit of our discounts. 5. We buy direct from the makers and thus save intermediate profits. All Coods Guaranteed Fresh and of Standard Excellence. All the advantages of co-operation may be secured without trouble by customers dealing with Boots, the Cash Price Dispensing Chemists, who prepare Physicians' Prescriptions and Family Recipes with Pure Drugs at about one-half the usual charges, or equal to an immediate dividend of 50 per cent. on the outlay. Each branch is under the management of a fully-qualified Chemist. PIJ1" BOOTS, Cash Chemists, Dealers in Perfumery, Patent Medicines, Pure Drugs, and Toilet Articles. Boots do the largest trade direct with the public in England, and can, therefore, sell at the cheapest rates and also guarantee the perfect freshness of their stock, which is an important consideration where drugs are consumed. 9. CWMPARK FLOWER SHOW.
CWMPARK FLOWER SHOW. List of Successe. The second 'annual vegetable, flower ,and poultry show was held on Monday last at the Ystradfechan, field, Trecrky generously lent foi the occasion by Mr W. Jenkins, J.P.). Three large marquees had been erected, one for the poultry, one for flowers, etc., and a refreshment tent. There was a large entry i neach class, and with a fair attendance the success of the show was assured. As a result of last year's show, the handsome sum of £ 30 was realised, and was handed over to the Library Committee. The committee were fortunate in having beauti- ful summer weather, and, notwithstanding nu- merous counter-attractions in other parts of the Valley, there was a good attendance. The judges were: Flowers, Mr T'reseder, Cardiff; garden produce, Mr Gilbert Baglan Hall: poul- try, Mr W. Gibbs, Cardiff. The president of the show is the genial Squire of Ystradfechan (Mr W. Jenkins, J.P.), who always lends a help- ing hand to any deserving cause. The patrons are Mrs Llewelyn, Baglan Hall; Mr E. Davies, Llandinam; Mr D. Treharne, Pentre; and Dr J. R. Armstrong. The chairman of the execu- tive committee is Mr J. T. Williams, manager, Park. while the committee consists of about forty employees of the Ocean Collieries. The important post of treasurer is ably held by Mr A. S. Tailis, Cwmpark, while the secretaries are Messrs W. C. Barrett, M.D.. Cwmpark, and W. P. Thomas, Teorky. All the above gentle- men, together with the committee, have been untiring in their efforts, and great praise is due to Dr Barrett for the completeness of the arrangements. GLAMORGAN AGRICULTURAL SHOW.
GLAMORGAN AGRICULTURAL SHOW. Local Successes at Swansea. As usual, this year's show of the Glamorgan Agricultural Society was full of interest to Pont- ypridd and the surrounding valleys. The exhibits from this district were fairly numerous, and local fanciers were well represented amongst the prize winners. In the dairy produce classes, Mr William Miles, Bertlilwyd Farm, Treharris, secured a second prize with his splendid cheese. Mr Rees Roderick, Quakers' Yard, came in for a second with his ducks. Mr Henry Rees, Pont- ypridd, took the premier card for working-homer pigeons. Deep interest attached to the equine classes, and in these Pontypridd shonel to distinct advantage. Mr John Trenchardlg well-known and handsome horses, "Spider" and "Pete," which were ridden by that dainty littler horsewoman, Miss Jones, figured splendidly and popularly on the prize list. "Spider" gained a second special prize in light weight hunters, whilst "Pete" was decorated with the premier card in hacks, and was also adjudged the best single harness mare or gelding not exceeding 15.2 in the show. We congratulate Mr Tren- chard and Miss Jones upon their signal success. Mr S. Evans, Penygraig, also did well. His 19 -11 1 "Lady May" took a second tor the nest pony not exceeding 13 hands, to be ridden by a boy not exceeding 13 years of age," and a first for single harness ponies, whilst his "Lord Elsman- da," was awarded first prize in the class for the best cob or hackney stallion. In the jumping contest there was a very deplorable hitch. The judges awarded first prize to one of Mr Tren- chard's horses and second to Mr S. Evans. "Lady Grey." The decision was, however, ap- pealed against, and at the time of going to press we are not in a position to give the re- sult. It may be mentioned that Mr Trenchard retained his v card although the prize was with- held. On the second day Mr Trenchard's Black Tom" was placed second second iR the trotting class, and his "Spider" occupied a similar posi- tion amongst the best jumpers of any height. Mr Sam Evans, Penygraig, was again successful his "Lady Grev' 'taking first prize for the bed jumpers in any of the hack or cob classes.
