DEATH OF MR JOHN DAVIES, COMMERCIAL HOTEL, FISHGUARD j It is with regret that we announce the death of Afi- John navies of the Commercial Hotel, Fishguard, after an illness of a short d: nation. The deceased, who was most liigldy esteemed in the town and neighbour- hood, had held the position of stationuiastcr at, Cryinmych, Clynderwen, and other places, for a number of years. During his stay at Crymmyeh he took a great iiiterest affairs of the place generally—upon several occasion acted as secretary to eisteddfodan, &c. Mr Davies and his family came to [ Fishguard about seven years ago to take oyer the Commercial Hotel, at which place Mr Davies drew his last breath on Thurs- day, the 28th day of December last. The deceased was very highly respected by both rich and poor, and in his death the latter will miss a true friend. We need not say that Mrs Oavies and her children feel very keenly'the loss which they have sustained, and to them there will be a terrible Wank, j and, indeed, to the townspeople in general, The funeral took place on Monday last and was very largely attended, his remains! being interied in the New Cemetery, Fish- guard. The coffin, which was made of polished oak, bore the following iuscripLÍoll- JOHN DAVIES, DIED 1 DEC. 28th, 1893, AGED 51 YEARS. Places of business were partially closed, and blinds were drawn all along the route as a « £ sixniiiiauhy for the bereaved widoiv and family, The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr Walter James, undertaker, Fishguard.
