A Book that Brings Fortune.…
A Book that Brings Fortune. HOW ANY READER OF THE "CARMAR- THEN WEEKLY REPORTER" MAY TURN JE5 INTO £8,000 WITHOUT RISK. Within the last few weeks there has been an overwhelming demand for a remarkable Blue Book dealing with a subject of absorb- ingnterest, that appeals to young and old, rich and poor alike. This book has 48 pages, and contams the Official Particulars furn- ished by Foreign Government and Munica- paJlities as to the distribution of Premiums. You ,may obtain a presentation copy free and it may be the means of making your Fortune. We all desire riches. We all desire the comforts and the pleasures that the posses- sion of money brings, and this desire, can be fulfilled, the opportunity—that m-agic key that unlocks the gate of sumess-is here. It is given by this lbodk-tihis book which Gs of more value to its reader than many times its weight in gold. "You don't have to lobk for luck," said a well-known financier the other day, "it is looking for you. All you have to do is to know it when you see it., get aboard, and ride to success." When, we first heard these words we were somewhat doubtful. Then caane this ibook. We opened it and read its pages, first carelessly, then with ever in- creasing interest, and now we know that the magnate's remark was perfectly true. Here was luck; here was opportunity; all that the freader had to do was plainly indicated. And thoen-riches, perhaps great riches, and riches, too, earned without the slightest worry, ainid without any Risk! Everybody knows rthat fortunes can. be made iÍin business or on the Stock Exchange. But what everybody does ntot know is that it ia quite possible to invest any money from £5 -cash upwards, or to deposit any money frbm 2s 6d a week upwards in a SAFE GOVERNMENT SECURITY FREE FROM ALL RISK, to earn a fortune, maybe, of £ 24,000. Yet such is the case. The facts are shown in the book we have mentioned. And if you will write to the Secretary of the Anglo- American Finance Corporation, 41, King Williaim st., London, E.C., you may obtain a copy of this marvellous work free of all charge or obligation by mentioning the "Carmarthen Weekly Reporter."

The Tabernacle House of Commons" re- sumed its sittings on Monday evening last, when the Speaker (the Rev E. U. Thomas) took his seat at 8.15. Both the government and opposition were well represented, and the ladies gallery was well filled, the suffrag- ettes being in evidence, but no demonstra- tion was attempted. The only order for the day was a Bill for the abolition of tliie liquoe traffic in the British Isles, which was intro- duced by the Prime Minister (the Right Hon J. I. Davies) in an eloquent and erudite speech. The leader of the opposition (the Horn. D. King), ^attacked the Bill in a most •brilliant and witty speech, "full of wise saws and modern inistances," in which ponderous sa-ttire struggled for supremacy with con- damnation of the measure without attempt- ing to demonstrate why it was needless and drastic. The hort. gentleman discouirsed at some length upon the great and material diff ertenoe between a dry chip and curmudgeon of a teetotaler and an open banded, boozy indulger..He advised the Ihon members to collinsel tbeiir ladies if they wanted an evenimg off rto "fill the old man up with drinik aind send him to bed." In the course of his pero ration he described the Bill as being full -),f discrepancies, and an attempt to Tide rough shod ovor the preoiiouts liberties of the people A general debate their followed, one of the bon members in alluding to the speech of the leader of the opposition, declaring that Ii:¡h:ey all knew that Mr Speaker was a staunch teetotaler, but no one would venture to describe him as a 'dry oM cflnip' OIl" 'curmud- geon" laughter). After a hot discussion on the relative merits a;ild failures of the measure, the Premier agreed to waive his right of reply, in order to save the Bill being J "talked out." The question was then, put to the vote, and the Bill 'became law by a substantial majority. ENGLISH CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH GUILD.— Oil Tuesday evening last a high class enter- tainment was given in the schoolroom under the conductorship of Mr J. 1. Shorrock. The Rev D. J. Thomas presided. The room was very full iand it may b-ore be mentioned that Mr Shorrock has never been heard in Car- marthen, to such good advantage, and the loud applause which greeted each of his songs amply proves the statement. Mr T. S. Puddicombe kindly presided at the piamo, a.nd the encore given- his solo shows that the audience did not fail to recognise that rare musibal talent which he possesses amd always displays. The entertainment, both vocal and instrumental, was of a very high orde,r and every item, without exception, wias warmly applauded, much appreciated, encores being frequently demanded. Mr Shorrock, in reply- ing, expressed his gratitude to all who had so kindly come to assist him in the entertain- ment The singing of the National Anthem brought this enjoyable evening to a close.— On (Monday next at 7.45 sharp, the Rev A. fuller Mills will lecture on, "The Satire and SaiTasm of Many Centuries."
