.H"==--= ready to do his duty, and many charitable causes have received handsome donations from him. He was also a great sports- man, and encouraged ambulance work to the best of his ability. In fact, many an injured miner at the Pentre Colliery re- ceived first-aid treatment at the hands of the manager. The funeral took place on Friday after- noon, the deceased's wish to -be buried with his mother at Glyntaff Cemetery being respected and carried out by the relatives. The funeral was for gentlemen only, proceeding in carnages by road. The Rev. Daniel Davies, of Nazareth Church, officiated, and referred to the many excellent qualities of deceased, and especially to his charitable disposition. Among those present at the funeral were —First coach-Messrs. Henry Edmunds. Samuel Edmunds, John Phillips, and Rees Owen (nephewsi); second coach—Mr. Mor- gan Davies (Mountain Ash), Rev. Daniel Davies (Nazareth), Mr. D. W. Jones (soli- citor), Mr. Evan Evans, and Dr. W. E. Thomas third coach—Mr. W. D. Wight (Gelli Collieries), Mr. W. E. Williams (veterinary surgeon), Mr. T. Williams, M.E. (Tynybedw), Mr. D. Richards, M.E. Wyndham Colliery,), and Mr. T. James (Penybank); fourth coach—Mr. D. Tre- harne (solicitor), Mr. E. T. Davies, C.C., Mr. T. Williams, M.E. (Pentre Colliery), Mr. G. Saunders. M.E. (Pentre Colliery), Mr. W. Howells, Mr. G. H. Rule (mechanic, Pentre Colliery), Mr. Roger Evans (storekeeper, Pentre Colliery), Mr. J. Roderick (cashier), Mr. Ben Devonald (Pentre), Mr. Nathaniel Rosser, Mr. Isaac Bowen (Tydraw Colliery, Treher- bert), Mr. W. H. Miles (Pentre), Mr. Herbert Davies, (Pentre), Mr. Obadiah Llewellyn (Ystrad), Mr. T. Felix Evans, Mr. A. J. Orchard (Porth), Mr. D. Rich- ards (auctioneer, Pentre), Mr. Williaiii, Thomas (Gelli Colliery), together with representatives of True Ivorites (Gomer Lodge). Floral tributes were sent by the following:—Messrs. Cory Bros., Ltd., Cardiff: Mr. W. D. Wight, Gelli Col- lieries Dr. W. E. Thomas, Llysygraig; officials of Pentre Colliery; workmen of Pentre Colliery; Rhondda Naturalists' Society; Mr. and Mrs. C. Davies, Pen- tre and friends. The funeral arrange- ments were conducted by Messrs. Howell Williams and Sons, funeral directors, Ystrad-Rhondda.
