1 Ton Collier's Appeal. I' County Court Decision Upheld. In the Court of Appeal on Saturday, Compensation appeals, and composed of the Master of the Rolls and Lord Justices Moulton and Farwell, there was heard the appeal of Isaiah Hill, of Ton-Pentre, from an award of the County Court Judge at Pontypridd in the case of Hill v. the Ocean Coal Company, Ltd. The appellant workman by his notice of appeal asked the Court to set aside the award made by the County Court Judge, and asked for an order that a payment of 18s. 6d. per week be awarded, or, if necessary, the matter might be referred back to the County Court Judge to assess the com- pensation. The grounds of appeal were (1) that there was no evidence to support the finding that the absence from work of the applicant was due to his being on the drink, (2) that there was no evidence to support the finding that there was only one occasion when the applicant was absent from work for a legiti- mate cause, (3) that the County Court Judge was wrong in law in holding. that the applicant was not entitled to I
