Porth Police Court. Thursday.—Before Messrs. T. P. Jen- kins, T. Griffiths, Drs. T. W. Parry and Ivor Davies. ASSAULTING POLICE. Albert Attwell, collier, Tonypandy, was charged with assaulting P.O. Sweet and two employees of the Rhondda Tramways Company; and Henry Clothier with assaulting P.C. Sweet. P.C. Sweet said that he was assaulted by one. of the prisoners, and tried to get him on a car, when another man assaulted him. Ultimately, with the assistance of four tramway employees, he put his pri- soner on the tram. The other prisoner then assaulted witness, punching him and kicking him severely. The Chairman expressed his gratitude to the tramwaymen for their help, and said that the police ought to be very grateful to them. The charges of drunk and disorderly were withdrawn, and Attwell was sen- tenced to six weeks' imprisonment and Clothier to one month. PATERNITY ORDER. Charlotte Blair (16), single, of Porth, summoned Horace Wilfred Ashton, col- lier, Ynyshir, to show cause, &c. Mr. J ames Phillips, Pontypridd, appeared for complainant, and Mr. Matthews, Ponty- pridd for defendant. Complainant said that she had given birth to a female child in September, the father of which she alleged defendant to be. On the 10th and 17th of October she saw defendant in Hannah Street, Porth, and he admitted the paternity on both occasions. Sarah Ann Jones, Trehafod, said that she was with complainant when they saw defendant, and he admitted paternity. An order of 3s. 6d. a week was made.
