Obituary. Mpti Gwendoline May Davies, Tonypandy, With deep regret we chronicle the death of Mrs. Gwendoline May Davies, the wife of Mr. Henry Davies, iron- monger, Tonypandy, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Samuel, M.A., County Schools, Porth, which took place very suddenly at her father's residence, Dolavon," Porth, on Boxing Day. Deceased, who was only 23 years of age, was spending Christmas Day at home with her parents, and was taken very ill in the evening. The following morning her condition improved somewhat, but the change for the better did not last long, for she died at 10.15 that evening. Mrs. Davies had only been married two years, and was very well known throughout the locality and much esteemed. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon, the Rev. J. E. Dennis, of Bethel (E.B.) Chapel, Tonypandy, officiating at the house and graveside. Among the mourners following the corpse were:—Mr. H. Davies, Tonypandy (husband); Mr. E. Samuel, Porth (father); Mr. Reginald Samuel, Porth (brother); Mr. Samuel Davies, Tonypandy (father-in-law); Mr. Samuel, Porth (brother); Mr. Samuel Davies, Tonypandy (father-in-law); Mr. J. Griffiths and sons (grandfather and uncles); Messrs. M. Davies and S. Davies, Mountain Atsh (cousins); Mr. Stephen Davies. Maesteg (brother-in-law); Mr. F. Gummer, Porth (uncle); Mr. J. Evans, Treherbert (cousin); and Mr. Jenkins, Carmarthen. Among the general public were:—Alderman E. H. Davies, J.P., Pentre; Alderman Morgan Williams, Porth; Councillors Tom Jones, Treorchy, and James Evans, Ciydach Vale; Mr. Daniel Thomas, Trealaw, and Councillor W. T. Davies, Porth (Governors and Clerk W. T. Davies, Porth (Governors and Clerk of the Porth County Schools); Councillor David Williams, Tonypandy; County, Councillor E. T. Davies, Ton-Pentre; ) Revs. E. Richards, Tonypandy; J. Edwards, Salem, Porth; R. B. Jones, Ynyshir; and j. Nicholas, Tonypandy. Floral tributes were sent by Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Mathias, Tynycymmer Hall, Porth; the Staff of the County School; Old Pupils' Association of the County School; Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Davies, Bryngarw, Porth; Mr. and Mrs. J. Davies, Brynamlwg, Porth; Mrs. D. Isaacs ahd family, Treorchy; Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Hodgson. Porth: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Jones, Portli: and Miss Amy Jones, headmistress of Infants' School. Porth. The interment took place at Llethrddu Cemetery, Trealaw. We extend our deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
