---"----_----Colwyn Bay Electricity…
Colwyn Bay Electricity Department. To THE EDITOR OF THE Weekly News. Sir,—Being interested in, Colwyn Bay matters, I, with many of your readers, could' not fail but be amused on reading and invesrtigating the re- port re the expert investigation in connection with the working and alleged mismanagement of the above undertaking, as reported in your issue otf the 29th ultimo. Mr. Hill's conclusions do not appear to me to give a single suggestion whereby matters could be improved upon. Mr. Tudman is to be congratulated upon his gentlemanly and straightforward replies, and as regards wages and supervision, I should thint, those replies would be satisfactory to any Coun- cil. Under the heading of supervision, Mr. Hill in Mr. Tudman's letter is referred to as a "Tele- graph EngineeIT. This is not correct. The elec- trical engineer for the London and North-West- ern Railway Company is Mr. A. Thompson, Crewe. Mr. Hill does not belong to the elec- tric lighting section, of Mr. Thompson's depart- ment. With regard to wages, and more especially to the salary of the Engineer, Mr. Tudman lias also most ably replied. I refer to the state- ment made by Mr. Hill, viz., That the engin- eer was un, receipt of a salary more than was usually paid." How would Mr. Hill like the ,same ,remark applied to himself. If he had as- certained the amount Mr. Tudman has saved to the Council in consulting fees he could only form the conclusion that the salary paid is a very reasonable one. With regard to the assist- ant engineer, whom Mr Hill styles a labourer, I venture to affirm that upon electricity matters the so-called labourer would be found upon ex- amination to be more entitled to the name of engineer than he is.—Yours, &c., ANOTHER ENGINEER.
...--.GIriIC.--.... Biography…
GIriIC. Biography of the Late Thomas E. Ellis, M.P. To THE EDITOR OF THE Weekly News. Sir,—In order to. complete the authorised bio- graphy of my husband, which has been under- taken by Messrs 0. M. Edwards and D. R. Daniel, it has been found necessary to procure further details of the part he took in the vari- ous movements with which he was connected during the. last ten years of his life. Such information! as can be obtained from public sources has been mostly secured, but there must remain a large mass of correspond- ence between him and his friends as to move- ments in which he was interested. In response to a former appeal, many such letters were received, but as that appeal may have escaped the attention of many of my hus- band's friends, I have determined to make this further request for such letters, which will be carefully preserved, and duly returned to their proper owners.—Yours faithfully, ANNIE J. ELLIS. 6, Laura-place, Aberystwyth.
Noisy School Children.
Noisy School Children. To THE EDITOR OF THE Weekly News. Sir,—I am extremely thankful to your corres- pondent, in last week's issue of your valuable paper, for drawing the attention of your numer- ous readers to the above matter. As one who has witnessed the affair, I can corroborate his statement in full, and add more to. it by saying that the behaviour of the girls and boys, after leaving schools, on their return journey home at Colwyn Bay platform, is a regular nuisance. They play with the railway trucks, throw their caps into the air, play football, and so disturb- ing the peace of the passengers. I sincerely hope that the headmasters, of these schools will take the matter up at once, and put a stop to such It ad practice, and show the public that they) expect their scholars to behave themselves in a gentlemanly manner after leaving school.— Yours, &c., WELL-WISHER.

Minister, Dolgelley (who, bv the wav, had been in the prime of life a renowned author and preacher in the said denomination), that he had secured a most marvellous cure of cataract and deterioration of the visual organs through the use of the invention called the Eve-Exerciser to such an extent that he became actually able to read with easte normal print by aid of glasses at the advanced age of 78 years. I may add that my uncle in reply to considerable number of queries, replied through the medium of the press, viz., the "Goleuad." testifying to the great and wonderful benefit derived by him from the use of the EYE-EXERCISER, and recommended same to all those suffering from their eyes. His case is one out of three or four somewhat miraculous cures by your grand invention which has come lately under my special notice.—Yours faithfully. REV. H. R. WILLIAMS (Llwydrudd).
