WHEREAS by sub-section 1 «f Sec- tion 9 of the Motor Car Act, 1903, it is enacted that within any limits or place referred to in regulations made by the Local Government Board with a view to the safety of the public, on the application of the local authority of the area in which the limits or place are situate, a person shall not drive a motor car at a speed exceeding ten miles per hour. And Whereas the County Council of Car. narvon have made a^lication to the Local Government Board lor a regulation to be made in pursuance of the said sub-section putting the above-mentioned provisions of that sub-section in force within the limits comprising the following roads or parts of roads within the Borough of Conway, that is to say — Rosehill Street, from the Suspension Bridge to a point in the Bangor Road situate 70 yards beyond the Archway. High Street; Castle Street and Berry Street; Uppergate Street and so much of Sych- nant Road as extends from Uppergate Street to the junction of the road with Brynhyfryd Park So much of Llanrwst Road as extends for a distance of 260 yards from its junc- tion with Rosehill Stieet; and So much of Station Road, Deganwy, as extends from the entrance to Deganwy Castle Hotel to a point situate 50 yards beyond the junction of the road with Ty- mawr Road, near Deganwy Schools. And Whereas notice of the said applica- tion and of the time and manner in which objections should be made to any such regu- lation appeared in the "London Gazette" of the 5th day of July, 1910, and in the NVeekly News of the 8th day of July, 1910. WHEREAS the Urban District Council of W Bettwsycoed (herein-after referred to as tke Local Authority ") have, in pursuance of Section 3 of the Public Health Acts Amend- mend Act, 1907 (herein-after referred to as "the Act of 1907"), applied to Us, the Local Government Board, to declare certain Sections of the Act of 1907 to be in force in the Urban District of Bettwsycoed (herein-after referred to as the District "); And whereas proof has been given to Our satisfaction of the advertisement required by sub-section (2) of Section 3 of the Act of 1907, and at least one month has elapsed after the date of that advertisement: NOW THEREFORE, in the exercise of Our powers in that behalf, We by this Order Declare, Specify, and Direct as follows that is to say :— ARTICLE I.-(I) On and after the day on which this Order comes into operation, Sections 15, 16. 17. 19, 20, 22, 23, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 33, contpiised in Part II Sections 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39. 40, 41, 42, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, and 51, comprised in Part III. and Sections 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60,61, 62, 63, 64, 65, and 66, comprised in Part IV. of the Act of 1907 shall be in force in the District. (2) Where a Section to which reference is made in the first column of the Schedule to this Order is one of the Sections by subdivision (i) of this Article described as comprised in Part II., Part III., or Part IV. and declared to be in force, the Section shall be in force in the Dis- trict subject to the following conditions and adaptations that is to say,- Unless and until We, by a further Order made 011 such application and after com- pliance with such requirements as are described and set forth in Section 3 of the Act of 1907, otherwise Declare, Specify, and Direct, the said Section, in its applica- tion to the District and in relation to the cxercise of the powers and to the discharge of the duties of the Local Authority under that Section shall have effect as if the words and figures set forth in the second column of the said Schedule opposite to the reference to that Section in the first column of that Schedule were added to and formed part of the Section. ARTICLE II.- Within the period of three weeks immediately following the date of this Order, or, where in Our opinion the circum- stances so require, within such later period as We by Order presc;ibe, the Local Authority shall cause this Order to be published by adver- tising the same once at least in one or more of the newspapers circulating in the District, and shall also cause a statement of the effect of this Order to be published in the London Gazette.
