Football. WELSH SENIOR CUP. LLANDUDNO AMATEURS v. CARNARVON UNITED. SECOND REPLAY. HANDSOME WIN FOR THE AMATEURS. (By" Vigilant. The second replay of the Welsh Senior Cup- tie between the Cormorants and Canaries at Llandudno, on Tuesday, was looked for- ward to with more than ordinary interest. What was wanted to make the event a de. lightful one from a spectator's point of view- was good weather. This prevailed, with the exception of a strong breeze which blew down the field from the sea end goal. There was a splendid attendance, amongst which were some hundreds from Carnarvon, and the Canary supporters alone snorted the green colours of their favourites. THE THIRD TIME OF ASKING. It will be fresh within the memory of our readers that the first match in this cup-tie resulted in a draw of two goals each, whilst the replay at Carnarvon, on a Thursday, in a veritable quagmire, ended in another draw after an extra half-hour's plav, of a goal each. Tuesday was the day to settle the matter, and the Amateurs managed it in a manner that quite charmed their supporters, for the struggle was one of great merit on the part of Llandudno, and the 'Chers were value for many more goals than those which found their billet. The gate amounted to close upon {'2n1 and right from the kick off excitement grew intense, particularly on the part of the Canary supporters, who had come to the fny with full conlidence of victory. Stentorian shouts rent the air when it was found that the Canaries had won the toss, end played with the breeze behind tlie.it. JOHNNIE JOXES OPENS THE SCORING. It was not long ere the Canaries had 'ot in front of Stallard, and after some scrambling play in front of Stallard. he was defeated by what may be termed a gift shot from Johnnie Jones. This caused the 'Chers to put on pressure. and for fully ten minutes they kept the Canaries in their own quarter, despite the strong brceze prevailing, and Carnarvon were distinctly Iuclcy in being able to stave off the various shots which were sent in to G. H. Jones. By a burst down the ilel(l, the Canaries got in front of Stallard, and Tom Johnson, missing his kick, let in Hugh Ro- berts. who scored with the ball cannoning otl another plaver. Nothing daunted, and having had as much of the game as their rivals, though plaving under adverse circumstances, the home side put on some refreshing bursts. Litt!e Tim, or rather Dan Leno, was all agog for a score, and he managed it after some excellent work by his colleagues, in a manner that raised the enthusiasm of the home supporters to a fine pitch. A capital game, in the first halt, I ended in the Canaries leading bv two goals to one. v- DAN REPEATS HIS PERFORMANCE AND F;OUAL!SFS. Playing with the bree/e behind them, it was not long before the 'Chers made things hum, although Walter Jones, on one occa- sion, sent in a teaser of a grounder which Stallard saved finely. A spell of pressure by the 'Chers saw some narrow and exciting squeaks in front of G. H. Jones. The 'Chers could do everything but place the ball in the net. However, Dan Davies, who was play- ing a marvellous game, forced an opportunity, and beat Jones, making things equal. There was tremendous cheering at the performance. CLEEVE GIVES THE I.EAD. Continuing their excellent display, the Amateurs put the Canaries defence to a very severe test, and several corners fell to Llan- dudno, from one of which Cleeve gave Llan- dudno the lead with a well-judged header. j Bob Davies added the fourth and fifth amidst a scene of the wildest jubilation.

Col- wyn Bay pressed at once, and nearly scored. Carter brought relief. A free kick for Llan- rwst. Howell gained possession, but was checked by R. Rowlands. Dennis got hold, but was charged off the ball by Ned Griffiths. Stanley Hughes now became prominent, and sent in a hot one, and Dick Jones cleared well. A free kick was given Llanrwst. Car- ter sent to Dennis, who forced a corner, which was fruitless. From the kick, Stanley gained possession, and passed to the left. The ball was sent across. Carter again re- lieved. Dennis and Richards were now com- bining, and nearly scored. cliaiice came for the Coiwyn Bay outside left, but he sent wide of the mark. From the kick, Stanley Hughes passed to Jones, who centred, and G. Hughes, the outside right, opened the score for Colwyn Bay, easily beating the home custodian. Llanrwst 1101" realised their position, and kept the ball well up the held. Humphrey Roberts made a pot for goal, going just ever the bar. A iotit was given against Llanrwst when the Colwyn Bay inside right just put ovei the crossbar. From the kick, K. Jones, for Colwyn Bay, secured, and passing to Stanley, who sent the ball to the right, when the outside man came forward, and sent in a lightning shot, and scored o.. Morgan, for Llanrwst, sent in a long shor, and nearly scored from midheld. The ball now travelled up and down bri-kly. but Stanley again made a rush for goal, which he only just missed. Arthur Richards was now showing to ad- vantage, and ran up the field, Hallwood stopping a grand shot irom Richards' foot, at the expense of a corner, which went be- hind. A lree kick for Colwvn Bay almost gave them No. 3. A. Richards and Dennis again did good work, but were repulsed by Ned 1ths. Richards again got hold, and passed to Howell, who was ruled offside when in a good position for goal. Colwyn Bay ran down the field, the ball going be- hind. Howell again showed himself, and tested the Colwyn Bay ciistodian, who was in grand form, and easily cleared. The ball was now in the Llanrwst territorv, and at this stage W. A. Williams was turned oft the field for some reason, and that had a telling effect upon the game. Hallwood was now frequently tested, and brought out some fine saves. L.lanrwst did the pressing for some time, and now showed some good combination. Colwyn Mav slack- ened down, but Stanley kept well up the held, and had a solo run, which was smartly checked by H. D. Richards, who played a sterling game for his side. Howell, for LJan. rwst, now nearly scored, and the return was met by R. D. Richards, who tried a not at goal, j List going over the bar. Phil- lips and Stanley combined well, and were able to get away from mid'ield, and to all appearance, scored a distinctly olisi(le goal, which was awarded them. Lennis now nearly scored for his side with a low shot that would deceive any goiakeeper, andillst missed the mark. LLAN3ERIS v. LLANDUDNO. THE CHERS DR\W WITH TEN MEN. I-, "131t"e, Slate."c Played at Llanberis on Saturday. It was more like a water polo match than a football match. The playing pitch was awful, and both teams were wet through soon after the kick oft. Llandudno won the toss, so they took the wind, and kicked towards the Dolbadarn Castle, but proper football plaving was out of the question. In the lirst "five minutes Llanberis had a corner, and it was cleverly put it dropped close to the bar, and W. g, Williams put through with his head. Soon after Llanberis had another through W. R. Thomas, the outside left. Neither team could make any headway. There were half a dozen pools on the plaving ground, and one of the Llanberis backs miskicked, and Uandudno scored twice. Soon after the place kick, Llanberis scored. Half-time arrived with Llanberis leading by 3—2. It was a pity to see the players in the second half wet and muddy. Somebody ought to provide something warm for them More or less, the players were done up. Everybody in Llanberis thought that Llan- beris were going to win, and soon E. Lloyd Hughes got another point. After this, Llan- beris was on the defensive, but Llanberis dilly-dallying with the ball, gave Llandudno a chance, and they scored. There is no doubt that Llandudno was the better team, and before the whistle went, Llandudno scored again, and brought the score level. Llan- dudno played ten men from the beginning, and went home with one point. Final: Llanberis, 4 Llandudno, 4.

Llangernyw Competitive Meeting. A very successful competitive meeting was held at the new C.M. Chapel on Monday afternoon and evening in aid of the chapel fundi Tea and supper were provided in a tent adjoining the chapel, which was well patronised. Mr. W. Llanrwst Competitive Meeting. Competitive meetings, in connection with Tabernacle, were held at Ebenezer Chapel, on Monday afternoon and evening. The chair in the afternoon was occupied by Mr. D. O. Jones, Aneddle, and in the evening, by Dr. J. W. Owen, Llys Meddyg, and the conductor of both meetings was Mr. R. Maddocks. The adjudicators were:—Music, Mr. T. R. Prize Day at Conway Boys' School. The annual distribution of prizes at the Boys' School took place on Thursday, when the Rev. J. W. Roberts, the Vicar, and Rev. J. Davies —representing the managers of the schools- made the presentations. The Vicar first pre- sented 70 certificates to the boys who had shown proficiency in Scripture, and compli- mented the school on the good report given by the Inspector. After this the three boys- who were placed in the Merit Class of the County Scholarship List—were awarded cert- ficates given by the County Council. The boys were David Griffiths (who also won a scholarship), Thomas Read and Alun Jones. ri Before distributing the prizes for attendance, the Chairman of Managers spoke to the boys at some length on the great importance of regular attendance at school, and highly praised the boys who received the watch and medals. These were Robert Hughes, Arthur Evans and William John Davies. In order to obtain the watch-prize, it is necessary that a boy must make hve successive years of un- broken attendance and for the medals, three years. The following boys received book-prizes for having made too per cent. of attendances during the year :—Geoffrey Williams, Frank Ralphes, John Herbert Hughes, Thomas Rd. Jones, Isaac R. Jones, Ivor Parry, Ivor J. Polin, John Benjamin Hughes, Willie Read, George Dodd, Willie Hughes. Twenty-one boys who made 99 per cent. also received book-prizes, as follows: Jack McCraith, Wm.
