[ The Globe Bazaar.
[ The Globe Bazaar. Continued from Page 8. ing upon Lany Mostyn to open the bazaar, said he considered at a .great honour to preside at a bazaar opened by the wife of their friend. Lord Mostyn.—(Applause.) He said friend advisedly, far he 'noted that if there was any good object to be supported the names of Lord. Mostyn and his revered and wTell-beloved mother. Lady Augusta Mostyn, -were found asso- ciated with it.—(Applausa ) The, ought to shew their appreciation of the Mostyn family by making that day a record one in receipts.— (Applause.) LADY MOSTYN. Lady Mostyn looked exceedingly well in a petunia, alndi white silk costume, with cream lace and touches of black satin or silk, with- out which no dress is quite complete. A large black picture hit with handsome ostrich feathers proved very becoming. Her Lady- ship, who was received with loud and continuous applause, them rose to declare t±ie .sale open, and in doing so said that there had been soi much, said already as to leave very litle left fotr her. "They were asked to go round the globe in four days, whereas it had taken L°rd Mostyn and herself five months to accomplish the trip.-(Laughte-r and applause.) She was afraid it would- take him five months to recover from the present trip.—(Laughter.) She hoped every one present would secure memento of the trip, so that the promoters would realise enough to pay off the debt on the beautiful Church of St. Paul's.—(Ap- plause. Twelve hundred pounds was a big sum to get, but they had got as much and even; more in the past. She would also like to ask visitors for whose benefit the Church was built to show their appreciation of the services by joining in the trip round the Globe bazaar and purchasing articles to help the good cause.—(Hear, hear.) She had great pleasure "iri declaring the bazaar open.—(Applause.) t Mr Fincham. Deganwy, proposing a vote of thanks to Lady Mostyn and Mr Wainwright, re- ferred, to the "great growth of the Church of England" in the parish during the 23 years 'he. had resided ix Deganwy. and to the great .part taken in it by the Mostyn family. The proposal was, secomded by Mr Willoughby p Gardner, and carried With IOlud applause.. The aniQ-ant. realised up to and includ- ing Thursday nishi, vas FOURTH DAY. i; -(- THE HON. MRS. All over the Kingdom just now there is heard a pressing call for greater physical effi- cieiicy o,ii the part of our boys and If the vLg.orous effOl-ts of our youngsters do not abate in enthusiasm, then in years to oome no nation should equal us in fineness of physlque, "power of endurance, or robust general health. Great care-, however, should !-be taken..that. our youn-g people, who are engaged in healthful exercise in the field or the gymnasium, at the seaside, at home, at school, oir on holidays, should be provided with proper food—food that makes for the building up of the body and the proper maintenance of its functions. There would be but little ad- vantage in encoura.gin.g boys to become scouts and prospective naval cadets or sending girls to the hockey fields or the tennis courts unless intelligence, is displayed in the selection of the food to be given" to these young people. The fooid of the young should, of course, con- tain nutriment n abundance, but such nutri- ment musit be in scientific proportions accord- ing to its properties. Some foods are flesh- building, some- brain stimulating, others heat giving. The accurate balance of all properties should be preserved. Currant Bread. Curramt ScOnes. Currant Cake, Currant Rice Padding, and scores of dishes made with currants and some cereal cr [farinaceous food are, in themselves, a perfect diet for young and growing people; indeed, if needful, life aed health could be sustained upon such food. But variety is amongst the first essentials of the true dietary, and all meals should be simple and wholesome but not monotonous. Youns" people invariably appre- ciate something with ,CUrTants in it, and the fruit, lends itself to; preparation in so many ways that monotony is easily avoided. Currant Cream Biscuits, now supplied by every better class baker, confectioner, and grocer, are suit- themselves a coiaiplete diet. In the fitness of the coming race is to be realised, the food of the yonm must be chosen with the ultimate .object' in view. CAMBRIAN ARCHAEOLOGISTS. VISIT TO EATON. On Sunday the programme of the Cambrian. A TchTologi C. al Association, in connection with, their annual meeting -at Chester, terminated' with a visit to Eaton Hall, by special invita- tion of the Duke of Westminster, patron of the Association. The party were conducted 10" Canon Morris (London); who formerly was chaplain librarian to the late Duke of West- minster. Toe Duke arranged to have on view two ChayteTs-a magnificent charter af Raudle VeTnon. Earl of Chester, and a charter cf Henry VIII., appointing Cardinal Wolsey. Lord High Chancellor. In the gardens at Eaton were E-een a Roman altar, found in Bou.sjhton, Chester, in 1821 and two Roman pillars, from Bridge-street, Chester. On Tues- dav the Association inspected Chester Castle and the old church .of St. M arv's-on-t-lie-Hill, Chester, and made a tour of the Whral peninsula. The golfer had hit somebody in the eye. and the person principally concerned hadn't liked it. In fact he had brought an action for damages against the golfer, and at the time this veracious history opens evidence was being taken before the "hiage as to everything that concerned the matter, and a good things that did not. "When this happened," said the judge to a bystander who had seen the whole affaiT, ai d'who was now ir the witness box, "was he addressing the ball?'' The witness scratched his head. "Well, sir," said the witi ess, "I'm no goife-r, and I don't know what he was addressing, but I hardly think it wa-. a Sunday school The Best Aperient "Ficolay."
