MR. ELLIS GRIFFITH, K.C.
MR. ELLIS GRIFFITH, K.C. ANGLESEY CONGRATULATIONS. The announcement that Mr -Ellis Griffith, the member for Anglesey, has been made a K.C. has been hailed with general satisfaction throughout the county. One of the first to offer Mr Griffith his congratulations was Mr R. 0.1 Roberts, the Conservatve canddate, whom he defeated at the last general electon. At a special' meeting of the Holyhead Council on Friday night Mr W. D. Jones proposed that a congratulatory message be forwarded to Mr Griffith. Whatever the shades of their political opinions might be, he was sure they were all glad to hear of their worthy and highly respect- i ed member's honour. Mr Moreton Pritchard having seconded the motion, it' was unanimously carried.
A MAN'S ORDEALS.
A MAN'S ORDEALS. Taking girls shopping. c Behaving himself, and talking Brown- ing at the Vicar's tea. Playing with a friend's children, who insist on delving for his watch with treacly fingers. Asking for a rise of salary, when he knows he has been late at the office several times during the week. Elating ham and eggs on the morning after a festive night at the club. Watching his adversary score fifties at billiards, when there is a, sovereign on the game.

Says Judge" "Before a man stands on his rights, he should be sure that he has some." But don't argue with him, for he may have a good left. It was the beginning of the football season, and the principal team of the town had advertised for a trainer. Amongst the applicants for the post was a young man who sent in a, card with his name on, and "Urgent" marked on it. "Have you had any experience?" one of the directors asked. "Experience!" the young man cred. "I should think so! Two of my brothers play football, another has tried to cross the Channel in an aeroplane, mother is a suffragette, and father keeps a racing motor-car, and they've ail learned under my direction." He got the berth. 1:'
