tendered from various parts of the Princi- pality. At the present rate of working it ought to complete the evidence at an early date. MR. MERLIN MORGAN is forming a mixed choir in order to compete at Cardiff on August Bank Holiday. Ladies and gentle- men possessing good voices, and who are desirous of joining this promising party should send for particulars to the Hon. Sec., Mr. E. Jones, 52, Threadneedle Street, E.C. ON Monday, the Prince of Wales presented Captain William Owen, coxswain of the Holyhead Lifeboat, with a gold medal for bravery in saving the lives of the crew of the ss. Harold," during a hurricane. The Prince heartily shook hands with the sturdy Captain, who is a fine specimen of a Welshman. ACCORDING to the Sphere, Mr. Thorne, the solicitor who contested Wolverhampton in the Liberal interest, is a Welshman by extraction. He is a very able speaker. IT looks as if the Conservatives were getting more alive to the importance of running Welshmen in sympathy with the Principality at the general elections. Thus Alderman Lewis Morgan, of Cardiff, a Cymmrodor and good Welshman, will fight in North Mon- mouth, and Mr. Lort Williams, another Welshman, racy of the soil, will contest Pembrokeshire. A Welshman will also stand for Swansea, and Capt. Pryce Jones in Montgomery Boroughs, and there will be a Welshman in Merthyr. If the Conservatives want to make an impression in Wales, they must go upon these lines.
