The attendance on 'Change to-day was below THE average, bus notwithstanding, a fair business was done in steam and household coals, prices for all descriptions maintaining an upward ten- dency. Small coals, both steam and bituminous, were in moderate request at Friday's quotations. Welsh cokes were in increased demand, while for patent fuel the inquiry was again very active. Inactivity has prevailed to-day in our local freight market, and as a result only a very limited amount of bus-Iness has been effected. Kates for the Italian and higher Mediterranean ports ruled a shada easier, but their was no material alteration in Spanish bay ports or cnasting freights. West Indian rates were quiet. SALE OF GREYHOUNDS. An important sale of greyhounds was held by Mr Rymill an the Baibican Repository on Saturday, and if ag eatmauy of the saplings offered were sold rather cheaply the well-bred ones, as usual, broght their full value, Amongst the lots sent up by Mr R Ciemnson, who is one of our oldest breeders, and Mr A W Morris, the former gentleman made 103 guineas for a brace and a half of .Tester and Mis- Mas-is saplings, whilst Mr Moiais ffered 170 guineas for four brace and a half by Greentick out of Wild Moss, who, taken all round, were certainly a ^rand looking lot. Mr Miller sold three brace of Jester-HaytimL saplings for 125 guineas, and he also obtained 61 guineas tor a brace by Greentick out of Madeline, but having placed a re- serve of 150 guineas each 011 two good-looking dogs, brothers of the above, they were not sold. Two brace and a half of grand looking saplings, the property of Mr Walker, made 219 guineas, and Mr A W Morris gave 100 guineas or the stud dog Britain Still. There was plenty of bidding for the half-dozen first season dogs sent up by Messrs H and W ThomMun. Trough- end was soid to Mr Fleming, who was probably buy- ing for Colonel North, for 470 guineas, and Mr O E Mason gave 185 guineas tor Toboggan. Mr J Coke gave 280 guineas for Tolerance.
