Carlton, near Nottingham, February 27. 1883 ,'Messrs the Midland Aunties Drug Company, Lincoln. "Gentlemen,—Some ten years ago my wife became lame with ulcerated legs. 1 tned every recommenda- tion for a cure, and also a large number of doctors (some of them very clever men with diseases of this kind), but to no effect. After being m this state for betwixt five and six years, I determined to try your Blood Mixture as a last resource, as she at that time appeared to be at death's door and had to be put to bed, having no uso in her legs and I am thankful to say, after taking 13 of your small bottles she experienced a perfect cure. This is now four years ago since the cure was effected, and there is no sign of the complaint returning. I may add that it had cost us scores of pounds trying one remedy after another previous to taking your invaluable medicine, for which I return you my sincere thanks.—I am, gentlemen, yours grato fully, C. S. P.S.—You may make what use of the above you think fit, but in the event of advertising it kindly keep back my name. You can, however, refer any one making private inquiries to my addre3s as follows :— C. S., Midland Station, Carlton, near Nottingham. IMPORTANT ADVICE TO ALL.—Cleanse the vitiated blood whenever you find it impuri. ties bursting through the skin in pimples, erup- tions, or sores cleanse it when you find it ob structed and sluggish in the veins; cleanse it when it is foul, and your feelings will tell you when. Keep the blood pure, and the health of the system will follow. As this Mixture is pleasant to the taste, and warrantee free from anything injurious to the most delicate constitution of either sex, the pro- prietors solicit sufferers to give it a trial to test its value. BANKERS,—Messrs FULLER, BANBURY, NIX and CO., 77, Lombard-street, London. The Directors invite subscriptions for the above- mentioned £75,000 6 per cent. First Mortgage Deben- tures. These debentures are issued in order to provide funds for the purposes of the business of the Corpora- tion. The additional capital wi.l further enable the Directors, not only to undertake work and contracts now beyond the capacity of the Corporation, but also to effect very considerable economies in carrying on the present volume of business. It is now generally admitted that the amendment of the Electric Lighting Act of 1882, which extends more favourable terms to the electrical contractors, and thus justifies the investment of capital in central installa- tions, for the supply of electric current, has very materially improved the prospects of the electrical in. dustry. An extensive and more genuine demand for electric light and power has made itself evident, and the cor- poration have now more orders on hand than 30& any previous period. The result of the past year's work is highly satisfac- tory, and a reference to the accounts for 1888 will show that, as compared with the previous year, the volume of business shows an increase of about 38 por cent., and the gross profit Itn increase of 70 per cent., while the standing charges show an increase of only about 7 per cent. The accompanying diagram illustrates the proress made by the Corporation during the past five years, and the enclosed report of the proceedings of the last annual general meeting contains information as to the general position of the corporation. The net profit upon the past year's operations, as shown by the balance sneet, after providinfl for depre. ciation and bad debts, was £10,322 Os Od; and the amount required for the interest on these Debentures is £4.500 per annum. The following are the principal items appearing on the credit side of the balance sheet to 31st December, 1888, audited by Messrs Cooper Brother and Co., char- tered accountants, and adopted by the shareholders at the annual general meeting in March last :— Cash at Bankers and in hand £9,917 Debtor Balances — 43.531 Stock 68,229 Property 84,766 'Patents 59,423 Shares and Debentures in subsidiary and other Shares and Debentures in subsidiary and other Companies 1,784 £272,650 In addition to the above there is an un- called share capital of 2b,517 £298,161 The amount due to sundry creditors, and on bills payable on 31st December, 1888, was. £22,120 Application in the annexed form should be filled up, and sent to Messrs Fuller, Banbury, Nix & Co., Bankers, 77, Lombard-street, London, B.C., accom- panied lIya deposit of 10 per cent. of the amount of the debentures applied for. Where no allotment is made the deposit will be returned in full. In case a less number of Debentures is allotted than is applied for, the excess of the deposit will be applied towards payment of the amount due on allotment. Failure to pay any instalments when due will render the allotment liable to cancellation, and the previous payments to forfeiture. By Order of the Board. E.
