THE CASE OF TOOM-ER.—A letter has been re- ceived from the Homo-office,, by Mr. W. R. Bartlett,.o Reading, solicitor to the father of Neville Maskelyne Toomer (the circumstances of whose case are well-khown) informing that gentleman that the Right Hon. S. H. Walpole, her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Home Department, having given a most careful and anxious consideration to the whole matter, feels it to be, his duty to recommend her Majesty to remit the remaining .por- tion of Toomer's sentence.
